As promised by Kevan the new employees of the housekeeping department were all in place the following day. The news of the new general manager taking office came along with their arrival. Delore Larissa could even settle into her chair, she received an email instructing her to attend a meeting in the large canference room. The attendees were all members of the hotel’s management team, gathering to introduce the new leadership and discuss the future of the hotel. 

Being unfamiliar with the employees of Bartham’s Regal Dynasty Hotel and mindful of Kevan’s instructions from the previous night. Larissa found a corner seat and sat down with her notebook, People around her were engaged in conversations, speculating about the upcoming new leader’s gender, age, appearance, and personality, all hoping for someone easy to get along with 

As the designated time of 9 am stated in the email approached the doors of the conference room were promptly pushed open, and one person stood in the doorway as three others entered one after another. Tu Larissa’s surprise the man leading them was the same person she had seen outside the utility room yesterday. 

He walked through the entire conference room and took his place at the seat designated for the general manager while the others. accomparying him dispersed and sat on both sides. After testing the microphone to ensure it worked properly, he began his self- introduction, saying, “Hello, everyone. I am the new general manager of the hotel. My name is Edmund Rogers.” 

It didn’t take long for a wave of enthusiastic greetings. “Hello, Mr. Rogers,” to fill the conference room, 

Larissa finally snapped out of her astonishment. No wonder she thought Edmund resembled Kevan; they were indeed cousins. Edmund’s gaze swept across the conference room, eventually landing on Larissa’s face. She cleary saw him grin and nod at her, which started her and made her quickly lower her head. 

The meeting proceeded as expected, with each person’s speech sounding formal and allicial, Larissa pretended to take notes, making an effort to avoid making eye contact with him. 

However, she didn’t anticipate that her low–profile approach would still attract his attention. 

“Ms. Seymour of the housekeeping department,” Edmund spoke, and all eyes in the conference room turned toward Larissa. She managed a smile as she raised her head and asked, “Yes?” 

Edmund rested his elbows on the table and clasped his hands to support his chin. He wore a faint smile on his face as he spoke, “I heard that the housekeeping department is undergoing significant improvements. Thank you for your hard work.” 

“Thanks,‘ she replied with an official tone. “It’s all part of my job.” 

He nodded. “I look forward to seeing the final results.” 

With that the topic concluded, as if he had casualy mentioned it. Larissa let out a sigh of relel, uncapped her pen, and continued 

scribbling random notes in her notebook
