Everyone had the heart for some gossip, and everyone loved watching some family drama 

The chattering crowd quieted down, and all kinds of looks were thrown over at Larissa, who felt their gazes stabbing into her back. 

“We can talk about our matter next time.” Pushing down the anger she felt, she reminded Lana, “This is a baby’s party. Do not ruin 

everyone’s spirits.” 

Lana had been spoiled since young, so she always put herself first. How could she care about this sort of thing? 

To her, Larissa’s attitude in looking at the bigger picture screamed guilt to her, so she refused to let her off, digging her claws furiously into her. “If we hadn’t met here, how on earth was I supposed to see you? You refuse to answer my calls and my texts, and you even refuse to let me into your house when I try to visit…” 

Seeing that she was going to cry again, Larissa accommodated her helplessly. “Fine. If you have to talk about it now we’ll go out and do it 

alone. Let’s not affect the others here.” 

“Why should we go out? We’ll do it right here and let the others judge. Isn’t that nice? Lana made up her mind to humiliate Larissa in front of Violet and her relatives. She was so very jealous of Violet’s love for Larissa, especially once she thought of how Lucas parents treated her during this period her resentment increased further. 

“And what are we supposed to judge?” Violet spoke in the midst of the silence. She walked over, eyeing Lana coldly. “Ms. Seymour, this is not a courtroom. No one has the obligation to solve your family disputes.” 

Lana panicked a little when Violet criticized her with such vehemence. She just wanted to drive a wedge between Violet and Larissa, not give Violet a bad impression of herself. After all she still hoped to become a Mrs. Rogers. 

“My–my apologies,” she said timidly. “I got too agitated and couldn’t control my emotions.” She looked at Violet while biting her lip, looking as pitiful as she could. 

But Violet had met too many two–faced people like Lana. 

“Ws. Hermes,” she called Cecilia who was trying to hide as discreetly as possible. “Shouldn’t you be disciplining your future daughter–in- law? Coming to another person’s family gathering to rave and rant – Her gare grew cold, which actually made her look like Kevan, “I makes her look rather uncivilized.” 

Having been named by her as well as being looked at with curiosity, sympathy, or disdain, Cecilia thought that she no longer retained any sence of dignity. Glaring at Lana with hatred, she immediately did her best to disassociate from her. “Mrs. Rogers, you misunderstand, This Ms. Seymour is not my future daughter–in–law! She’s just a regular friend of Lucas 

However, anyone who was not blind could see Lana and Lucas intimacy from before. Besides, to be able to attend a family least like this with Lucas meant that she could not possibly be just a regular friend. 

Cecilia’s lie was terrible, but the guests could understand how she felt. If they were in her shoes, they would never acknowledge Lana as their daughter–in–law either. 

Xander and Lucas just happened to return to the private room at this time. 

Cecilia reacted as if she had found her savior, and she frantically waved at Lucas. “Lucas! Hurry up and take your friend away!”
