Violet took the kitten away, just as Larissa wished.
When Kevan got home that night, he did not hurry to eat, but circled the living room and called “Mu ffin!” anxiously. He’d named that kitten
M uffin too.
Larissa never used that name due to her feelings of displeasure.
Kevan did not find the kitten, so he hurried to check the bedroom and the study, before finally coming to the dining hall where Larissa was.
She was eating her dinner quietly. Ever since Mullin was sent away, she rarely initiated conversation with him.
Kevan asked her. “Have you seen Mu ffin?”
“M uffin?” A mocking smile appeared on Larissa’s face. “Didn’t you give her to Ruby?”
Kevan was struck momentarily speechless by her, and his lace darkened as he said coldly. “I meant my M uffin.”
He deliberately emphasized the word “my”.
“Oh.” Larissa was dismissive. “I got Mom to take it back with her.”
The coldness in Kevan’s eyes grew stronger.
“Why didn’t you discuss it with me before doing that?” He confronted her.
“Didn’t you do the same when you sent mine away?” Larissa chuckled with contempt. “I’m just returning the favor.”
Kevan’s face went through several shades of color due to how livid he was. He spun around abruptly and went out quickly. When Larissa finally reacted, she only heard the main door slamming shut. When Kevan came back again, it was two hours later, by then of which Larissa had already showered and gone to bed.
An hour ago, she received a call from Violet, who said apologetically, “Kevan ignored my advice and took the kitten back.”
Larissa honestly did not expect Kevan to be so obsessed with that kitten.
The next day, Violet specially came over to apologize to Larissa, who only smiled and said, “It’s line. Kevan probably likes this kitten a lot, so he could not bear to have it sent away. I was too hasty in asking you to take the kitten away yesterday.”
Violet was very surprised. “You’re saying Kevan likes this kitten?” In her memory, Kevan would never take the initiative in touching furred animals who would shed. The first Mullin, according to Larissa had never gotten anything from him.
“Yeah.” Larissa glanced at the sleeping kitten in the cage, complicated emotions engulling her. “Kevan started looking for it the moment he came home last night. Before that, he would play with it for a very long time each night.”
Violet was over the moon, Although she did not know what changed Kevan, she was delighted to see such changes. In a brief moment. she seemed to see a healthy, chubby baby boy calling her “Granny.”

Larissa knew this too, so she did not make things difficult for Violet.
