Chapter 355
“What did you say? Muttin is? Which Muttin?” she asked anxiously.
The kitten in the cage had been brought out by Kevan, and it was c currently lying on the sofa motionlessly, just as dead as Larissa when she was asleep. Even if her brain was muddled right now, Larissa could sense that something was wrong.
“When did it get sick?” she asked Kevan. She only got another sneer from Kevan.
“You don’t even know having been at home for the whole day, how would I know?”
With that, he brought the kitten into his arms and headed anxiously to the entrance hall Larissa followed him closely. When Kevan was changing his shoes, Larissa randomly pulled out a pair of winter boots from the shoe cabinet too, and put them on,
“What are you doing? Kevan asked her.
“Aren’t you going to send it to the vet? I’m going with you.” Larissa gazed at the motionless kitty. Even if she sidelined the kitten, her heart
was anxious over its current condition too.
“Didn’t you hate it?” Kevan’s hand dropped onto the doorknob. “Stay home! It’s enough for me to go alone! Pushing open the door, a walt
of cold wind breezed in, causing Larissa to shiver. She was only wearing a thin nightgown, which was clearly unable to block off the cold.
“Wait for me, I’ll grab a down jacket!” She stripped off her boots before running into the house, but Kevan had no intention to wait for her.
After he was out, he slammed the door shut. Hearing that Larissa froze in her steps. She hurriedly turned around to see the shut door, and
her anxiety cooled off in an instant. Her heart also strangely felt empty.
Down jacket wrapped around her, she went to the balcony. That familiar car downstairs just happened to get started, and it soon vanished
into the darkness.
After Kevan left with the kitten, Larissa could no longer sleep. She sat in the living room and turned on the TV, flipping the channels over and over before starting from the top again. The current time period was a golden hour for every big TV station to fight for views. But none of the dramas or reality shows could draw her attention.
She then used her phone to go through Instagram as well as combing through the hundreds of messages in the group chats in WhatsApp. But after quitting both apps, she did not remember what she saw not what anyone said in the group chats.
Larissa would go to the balcony once every ten or so minutes. After almost an hour, she finally waited for Kevan’s car to return. She went to open the door and waited in the entrance hall,
Ten minutes later, Kevan appeared by the elevator doors with the kitten. When he saw her. Kevan froze for a bit before entering the house with a cold aura about him. He went past her after changing shoes without even looking at her.
Larissa asked with concern, “So, what’s the problem?”
Kevan did not answer. He gently placed the kitten on the sofa and grabbed a first aid kit from his room. Seeing this, Larissa was a bit
anxious.
“Is it really bad?” she asked.
Kevan still said nothing. He mixed a bag of herbal medicine and led a needleless syringe to the brim with it. Then, he forced the kitten’s mouth open and injected the medicine into it.
Seeing this, Larissa could guess. “Did it catch a cold?”
After feeding the kitten, Kevan gave her a cold stare. He had a strange look on his face, where his smile did not quite resemble a smile. “It’s not a serious illness, hence it will not die. Sorry for disappointing you.”
