Larissa smiled calmly. "Yeah."
Kevan glanced at her through the rearview mirror and pressed his lips tightly together, not uttering a single word.
"Speaking of which, I haven't asked." Larissa changed the subject. "What are you doing in Bartham?"
"Huh? Kevan didn't tell you?" Dylan eyed said man in confusion before turning to look at Larissa again. "Kevan has a friend who wants to get a divorce. The lawyer hired previously suddenly quit and left, so I got called back."
A "friend" of Kevan's who wanted to get a divorce … Larissa could only think of Ruby. If she could be considered his "friend" too, well, she was probably another one who wanted to get a divorce too.
"Oh." Larissa did not show any visible facial changes. "I heard about that."
Hearing no changes in her voice, Kevan's grip tightened on the steering wheel.
"Then, where are you staying?" Larissa asked.
"My home, of course!" Dylan replied matter-of-factly.
Larissa suddenly realized her question was a little dumb.
"My home is one floor below yours, just like in Covenford," Dylan added.
Larissa did not know about this.
"But I'll have to stay at your place for a night. My place isn't quite cleaned up yet, so I can't sleep there." He smiled sheepishly, before looking at Kevan with a smirk. "You will take me in, right?"
Kevan eyed him with his peripheral vision and asked coldly, "If I said no, would you go somewhere else?"
"Nope!" Dylan did not hesitate.
…
Dylan went home with them. The moment he entered the apartment, he yelled in surprise, "You have a cat!"
His voice was incredibly loud.
Kevan urged him, "Hurry up and move your things into the guest room. We still have something important we need to do."
Dylan did not even look at him, grumbling, "I just got here! Can't I rest for a bit before I do anything else? Didn't you say that it wasn't urgent?"
Kevan turned to glance at the dining hall. Seeing that Larissa was not out yet, he kicked Dylan's leg.
"Hurry up and go! I still have something to do!" He snatched the kitten back from Dylan and put it back in its cage. "If you don't go, you will be sleeping with your parents tonight!"
"Fine, fine, fine! I'll go, I'll go!" Dylan got up reluctantly just as Larissa came out with a mousse cake that she made the day before. Seeing that they were about to leave, she was a little surprised.
"Are you leaving so soon?" she asked.
Dylan saw the cake and said hurriedly, "Well, it's not like I have to go now, this cake …"
He had not finished speaking when Kevan yanked him back to the entrance hall. "Do you want to go home?" Kevan threatened him in a low voice. Dylan pouted but followed him out of the door.
