Larissa rushed into the restroom. At this point, the movie hadn't ended yet. But regardless, it was still unusual to find the restroom empty since it was usually packed with ladies queuing up. She turned on the tap and splashed a handful of cold water on her face, soothing away most of the heat. She used a napkin to carefully dab off the water stains, gradually calming her racing heartbeat. She then applied a thin layer of foundation as she stood in front of the mirror, concealing the lingering blush on her face.

Afterward, she adjusted her expression bit by bit until the previous nervousness and shyness were no longer visible. She then walked to the counter with her head held high and bought Kevan a can of carbonated drink. When she returned to the screening hall, more than half of the movie had already passed.

Kevan leaned back, his body half-slouched, and he was propping his chin with one hand. He dimmed the brightness of his phone screen to the maximum and was engrossed in whatever he was looking at. On the other hand, Aster was sound asleep as he leaned on the armrest.

She handed him the can and asked in a hushed voice, "When did Aster fall asleep?"

"He couldn't last two minutes after you left." Kevan chuckled, half amused and half sympathetic, as he gently stroked Aster's head. "He's really struggling with this kind of movie, but he insisted on picking it and didn't want to sleep in front of you. He asked me to wake him up when you come back." He turned to her and asked, "Should I?"

She felt sorry for her son, but she also wanted to teach him a lesson. So, she said resolutely, "Yeah. He's gonna finish watching the movie."

Naturally, Kevan understood her intentions and didn't object; he merely shook his head helplessly. He lightly tapped Aster's shoulder and said, "Your mom is back."

Aster jolted awake and immediately sat up straight, his eyes fixated on the screen, pretending to be fully engrossed in the movie. She was amused by his act but managed to hold back her laughter.

Finally, when the movie ended after what felt like a long time, Aster insisted on riding Kevan's car home. She gave in, allowing Kevan to drive them home. Aster must have been exhausted because he fell asleep in her arms shortly after they got into the car.
