"Do you want to have someone prepare the money?" Dylan asked.
"Of course." Kevan did not hesitate on this issue.
Dylan immediately got up to make a call on the balcony.
"Are you feeling better now?" Kevan asked Larissa.
He just asked this without any preamble, and Larissa took some time to gather herself before retorting, "Feeling better about what?"
"I will not ignore Bethany." Kevan had a faint smile on his lips. When he spoke, he kept his fathomless gaze on Larissa the whole time, the warmth and scorch from it causing her to be ill at ease once more.
Pressing a hand against her pounding heart, Larissa looked down slowly. "I've always been okay." Her voice was lighter than the night's breeze.
"So …" Kevan's gaze moved away from her face and down to her plate. "Can you eat properly now?"
Larissa was stunned. He seemed to have some sort of obsession—or was it some sort of … compulsive disorder? Regardless, if he did not force her to finish her food, he would not be happy. At this point, she did not want to create more trouble for him, and could only force herself to take in a few more spoonfuls of food.
The furrow in Kevan's brow finally began to loosen up slowly.
Larissa still had work to do, so she did not stay in Dylan's room for long. After she left, Kevan's face visibly darkened.
He called Jack in person and said, "No need to track that number. The person who kidnapped Bethany is Ron Jules."
