Sweet Subterfuge novel by Trina Duo novel Chapter 571

Now that Kevan had leaked insider information to him and recalled the ship, there wouldn't be any conclusive evidence of Cody's misdeeds.

Cody could easily find a way out to shift the blame to the suppliers overseas.

The most serious consequence to him would only be the loss of the money he'd invested. If Cody had signed a contract with overseas suppliers for payment upon delivery, he wouldn't suffer from any losses at all.

"As you said, I have my own principles. I will not drag other people into a personal grudge against my cousin," Kevan replied in a deep voice that had a hint of amusement in it.

Lewis was taken aback initially, but he quickly recovered. "Is it because of Lari?"

Smiling at him meaningfully, Kevan turned around and went up the stairs with large strides, taking two steps at a time.

At the top of the stairs, he stood with his back facing Lewis. With a hand in his pocket, he carelessly waved the other hand at Lewis. "See you."

Larissa keenly noticed that the expression on Lewis's face was significantly changed after returning to the hospital ward.

Time and again, he stole glances at Gary repeatedly, as if he had something important to discuss with him.

Recalling what Kevan said when he dragged Lewis out of the room, Larissa could vaguely guess that Lewis wanted to talk about some problems with the company.

However, Gary had just made it clear that he wouldn't discuss anything about work during his vacation, and Lewis was hesitant to bring it up directly.

Larissa gave him a way out by asking intentionally, "What did Kevan say to you?"

Lewis quickly followed up on her question, "There's a problem regarding our partnership with Soaring Corporation … " He briefly glanced at Gary, waiting for his reaction.

Frowning, Gary looked at Larissa on the hospital bed and instructed Lewis, "Let's talk outside." He didn't want to disturb Larissa's rest.

"Lewis, you are the only one I can trust now. When I'm gone, I entrust you with Lari and the company," Gary said with a deep sigh and patted Lewis's shoulder.

His health was already in poor condition, so it was possible that he would suddenly pass on without warning.

Initially, his only concern was regarding the company, but now he had another person to worry about.

Lewis held on to Gary's hand and declared solemnly, "Taking care of Lari is already my responsibility."

Gary had raised him since he was a child and had given him a comfortable life that he'd enjoyed, so it was time for him to repay his debts.

"However … there are some things that you may want to handle personally."
