Chapter 703
“Lewis went to check out. It was beyond his expectations too.” Larissa defended Lewis. “Don’t blame him, Dad.”
Now that she had put it that way, Gary couldn’t let steam off in front of her, even if he was angry at Lewis.
Suppressing his fury. Gary asked her, “Is there anything I can help with?”
Despite their shart encounter, he knew her character very well Larissa was strong and independent. Making others worried was the last thing on her list.
Putting his anger and worries aside, Gary was slightly taken aback when she told him about the kidnap.
Judging from her character, she was not someone who would bring it up hersell.
Even if he found out about the injury on her hand, she would’ve definitely glossed It over by making up an excuse.
No, she might not even meet him until she recovered.
Meanwhile, Larissa was not surprised that he had seen through her. She smiled family. “I would like to lake over your company.”
Gary and Lewis were equally dumbfounded.
“W–Why? Gary stammered.
Ever since they reunited, he had been mentioning the succession to her. However, Larissa kept turning his offer down.
She had her own career and dreams. Blue Star Shipping was in an industry she was unfamiliar with. Hence, she was reluctant to take over
the company.
It went on for quite some time until Gary had forsaker that notion. In the end, he set up a trust fund so that she wouldn’t run out of money.
At the same time, he wrote a will to bestow all cf the assets under Blue Star Shipping to Larissa
“I want more power to protect the people I care for.” She lowered her gaze. Her other hand, which was uninjured, clenched tightly under
her sleeve.
Unfortunately.. all he could hear was ‘the people I care for.”
—
“The people you care for Does it include Kevan Rogers? Those words barely sipped through his grilled teeth. It was as if he was going to murder Kevan il the answer was positive.
Her eyelids futtered at that. She masked her emotions with a light smile. “There are a lot of people I care for. Aster, Wendy, Lewis, and
most importantly, you.”
He was wreathed in smiles upon hearing her sweel words.
Gary did not question further about who or what had changed her mind. “Since you’ve decided to take over the company, I’ll find an opportunity to introduce you to everyone.”
He then instructed Lewis. “Hold a cocktail party within the week. Invite all of our business partners.”
Lewis nodded. “I get it ready as soon as possible.”
Frowning, Larissa was going to stop that, Gary, who saw through her intentions, said. “We must go through the procedures. I have to. officially introduce you, or the subordinates won’t respect you as I do.”
Alter a moment of silence, she gave in. “Okay.”
“About that kidnapper, should I pull some strings to help out with
Investigation?” He steered the topic back to the unsolved mystery.
