Chapter 74
Janine lowered her head to sob again, and Dick continued playing his role of comforting his “grieving” wife. The scene panned over to the host.
“Based on the rules of our show, we would have invited the other party, that is, Ms. Levange’s daughter-in-law to be present to talk about her anguish and grievances and mediate the misunderstandings between both parties from there. But when our editors went to Ms. Levange’s daughter-in-law’s workplace and explained the situation to her to invite her on to the show, we received the following response as shown-”
They showed a video clip that displayed a familiar background that Larissa knew. It was her office at the hotel, and she was shown in the clip too- however, it was just her body from the neck down. From the angle, it was clear that this was covertly taken, and there was a caption acknowledging that the video clip was taken through unusual means on the bottom left corner of the clip.
The video showed pretty much everything that had happened in her office that, day, except for the interrogatory question from that long-haired female editor as well as Larissa’s response of how she always had a clear conscience in anything she did. This kind of editing only put emphasis on how “cold” she was, and regular viewers would only think that she was refusing to appear on the show out of guilt as she did not dare face her mother-in-law.
They had altered Larissa’s voice in the video, likely to prevent her identity from being leaked. But it was useless as those who knew her would recognize her at once-like her colleagues.
The host concluded, “As Ms. Levange’s daughter-in-law is not here, we are unable to mediate this misunderstanding. I hope, when Ms. Levange’s daughter -in-law has seen our show, and heard Ms. Levange’s thoughts, you will voluntarily contact our production crew-or contact Ms. Levange yourself. We hope that you will reconcile, and fulfill your husband’s wish. Our show will follow up on this matter.”
The episode ended there.
Larissa was so angry that she wanted to smash her tablet. If she knew that this

was going to happen, she would have torn Travis’ parents a new one on TV, even if that meant risking being ridiculed by the whole country.
The discussion was still ongoing in the WhatsApp group. Scanning through them, Larissa saw that they were all supporting her.
“There’s no way that Ms. Seymour is the kind of person her MIL said she is! I don’t believe it!”
“Her mother-in-law is the one who’s trash! Didn’t she and her husband cause a scene at our hotel previously? I heard reception say that their characters are… Anyway, they’re like nasty as heck, guys.”
“Man, what did Ms. Seymour do to gain in-laws like that!”
Larissa stared at the messages for a while, and her mood improved just a tad.
Larissa thought that the show’s episode would not cause too much trouble as The Mediators Room” had new stories every day. This meant that the audience would have new topics of interest to discuss.
But she did not expect that a great deal of people online had unanimously clipped out sections of the show’s episode and criticized her mercilessly, even saying what an “ungrateful” bitch she was. Some even exposed her personal information.
Some busybody even called the hotel and complained about her “bad character “, demanding that she be fired or they would boycott all the Regal Dynasty hotels. Because of this, the general manager sought her out once again.
“Why is your family matter still not sorted out?” Mr. Compton was very dissatisfied with her efficiency. “Do you know how many ridiculous people are calling our customer service number to complain about you?”
Larissa’s head was as down as she could lower it.
“This is still okay!” Mr. Compton smacked the table twice. “Our internal complaints always end up with me as I’m the one to deal with them. I know the kind of person you are, so I will not fire you. But I heard that there were people who called our main branch and even Soaring Corporation! If the brass believes the nonsense that’s being spread around right now, or if they want to fire you for the sake of the company and hotel’s reputation, I can’t help you in that
