Chapter 848
Larissa did not know if Marilyn was doing it on purpose or not, but all of her actions made Larissa feel somewhat annoyed.
She refused Marilyn’s good intentions. “These clothes are suitable for you, but not quite suitable for me. Just keep them for yourselves.”
Marilyn seemed to have sensed something as her mood changed suddenly. “Larissa, are you upset?” She anxiously held Larissa’s hand as she hit the nail on the head. “Because I bought clothes that you don’t like?”
Larissa pressed her lips tightly together. Her silence was considered a positive answer.
Marilyn was honest though. “Fine, I admit it. I did it on purpose.”
Larissa was
surprised. “Why?”
Marilyn huffed as she pretended to be unhappy. “Because I’m mad! You ignored me for this whole week! When you were window shopping with me, you weren’t serious either! I asked you if the clothes looked nice, but you still weren’t serious!”
Larissa scratched her face awkwardly at Marilyn’s scolding, “Sorry.” Thankfully, the best thing Larissa could do was apologize. Her sincere attitude was always satisfactory. “Mr. Logan Junior arranged quite a lot of duties for me this week, and you know how strict he is with
work
“Today’s my fault. I treat you to dinner, you pick the place, how about that?”
“Alright then! I guess I’ll forgive you!” It was easy to cheer Marilyn up. “But before dinner-” She lifted the shopping bags in her hands. looking a little embarrassed and sheepish. “I gotta retum these. Truthfully I also don’t think they look nice.”
Larissa had just accompanied Marilyn to return all the clothes when a notification rang on her phone.
She thought that Wendy had finally responded to her, but it was Kevan who texted her instead. He asked completely out of nowhere. “Did
Wendy find you?”
It was midnight in Caldor right now. There was something clearly wrong if Kevan was asking about Wendy at this time instead of sleeping.
“No. Did something happen?” Larissa asked.
“Are you free to answer a call?”
When seeing these words from Kevan, Larissa’s heart skipped a beat, and she began to feel afraid. She said to Marilyn, “Why don’t you go to the restaurant? I need to make a call”
Marilyn froze and nodded. “Sure, come over a
over as soon
n as you can.”
Larissa quickly called Kevan before Marilyn had walked far away. “What’s wrong?” She asked.
Kevan was silent for a few minutes, and Larissa’s anxiety grew.
