Chapter 901
As it turned out, “mothers know best” was a truth that would never change.
Larissa stared at all the scribbles that were drawn as she asked Gary. “This is what you call very talented“?”
Gary was shockingly still able to praise every little part of Aster’s drawing. “Look at this curve here, how perfect! And this little thin line
here, and this one”
“Sure, then.” Larissa crossed her arms as she asked Gary. “Then can you tell me what the hell he just drew?”
This definitely made Gary feel lost. He tipped his head to the side as he brought the papers closer and further away from him. He was staring holes into the papers, and yet he still could not tell what was drawn on them.
Finally, he tried to guess. “Is that a very tall chicken?”
“Noooo! That’s not it” Aster snatched away his “masterpiece” from Gary with annoyance. “This is Ke–van–Ro–gers! It’s my daddy!”
Gary’s expression changed at once, and he did not speak for a long while.
Larissa watched her father’s speechless face with amusement, and she added salt to his wounds. “So? Is your grandson still talented
now? Is he still a master artist?”
Gary tumed to glare at Larissa.
Aster carefully folded the two papers with the drawing of Kevan on it like he was holding some precious treasure. “I want to bring this back. “He proudly lifted his chin and announced loudly, “I will give it to Daddy as his present!”
Gary’s lace was darker than ever. Although he did not like Kevan, he never dared to say anything bad about Kevan in front of Aster. He was scared that Aster would be unhappy and hate him.
Feeling bad for her lather, Larissa quickly pulled Aster and asked him, “What about Grandpa’s present? Grandpa is so good to you. He bought you so much good lood and taught you how to draw, shouldn’t you thank Grandpa?
“Grandpa’s present is right here!” Aster took out a paper from the remaining stack. “Here. A drawing of Grandpa with his name, Ga–ry–Lo-
gan.”
Larissa covered her face. If Aster had not said it, no one would have guessed those words were Gary’s name.
But Gary was suddenly happier than before and all the darkness on his face was gone. He kept holding that paper and looked at it like he was totally happy with this gift.
“I’m going to frame this and hang it up in the living room! I will make sure that all guests who come to our house will see it!”
Larissa advised him. “That won’t be necessary-
It would only errbarrass Gary.
“Grandpa, Grandpa Aster immediately tugged on Gary’s sleeve and gave him the folded papers with the drawing of Kevan. “Can you frame
