Chapter 934
After a warning from Kevan, Kevan’s parents seemed a little dejected, but they didn’t show it in front of Larissa.
Dinner was already prepared. This was one of the rare times when Violet cooked dinner personally. After asking Kevan about Larissa’s
preferences, Violet had prepared all her favorite dishes.
During dinner, Viclet kept piling dishes on Larissa’s plate. Her plate was almost never empty.
Larissa and Kevan went for a walk in the courtyard after dinner. Aster also wanted to join them, but Violet kept him indoors.
The Rogers‘ villa was located in the suburbs, surrounded by a cluster of other villas.
There were no lall buildings or constant traffic.
One could smell fresh air in the courtyard. Looking up, there was a clear night sky with twinkling stars that were not visible in the bustling
city.
“It will be nice to live here when we get old,” Larissa commented.
Kevan curled his lips into a smile when Larissa hinted at their future together.
“Yes, we will live wherever you like.” He held her hand and walked slowly with her. As long as she was with him, he didn’t mind staying
anywhere, even if it was as far as the ends of the earth.
“How about you? Do you like it here?” Larissa stopped in her tracks and turned to Kevan.
Kevan nodded and said sincerely, “I do.”
Larissa felt relieved. It was good that he liked what she liked as well.
Larissa glanced toward the door. After making sure no one was around, she whispered, “I don’t think I will come here tomorrow. Il Mrs. Rogers keeps feeding me like this, I might gain ten pounds”
Fortunately, she was wearing loose–fitting clothing that hid her tummy. If she hadn’t her rounded belly would have been a complete
giveaway.
“Okay, we won’t come tomorrow. I need to go back to the office as well so I won’t be here.” Kevan’s eyes shone with amusement.
“Be careful. Cody might try to harm you whenever he gets the chance.” Larissa warned him.
“He will not come at me directly.” Kevan’s expression darkened.
After being at odds with Cody for many years, he knew Cody better than anyone else. Cody would not target him because he wouldn’t gain anything from doing so.
With Cody’s intelligence, he could only blackmail Kevan by holding the people he loved hostage.
Kevan had to admit, it would be effective against him.
Nonetheless, Cody hadn’t succeeded in his plans despite several attempts.
Kevan tightened his grip on Larissa’s hand and spoke in a hoarse voice, “I will have my men protect you in secret. They won’t disrupt your daily activities, just treat them like they don’t exist.”
Larissa looked up into Keyan’s eyes and replied earnestly, “Okay, I will take care of myself.”
“Do you regret it? Kevan asked.
