Take Me Away novel Chapter 107

After breakfast, Spencer drove Fiona to D University. He made sure that everything was in perfect condition and that Fiona had sat down before locking all the doors and starting the car. He also leaned over and fastened her seat belt for her.

He was driving the off-road car in rush hour.

As they were about to cross the intersection before D University, Fiona quickly signaled to him to stop the car. "Just drop me over here. It's fine."

Completely disregarding her request, Spencer stepped on the gas and raced to the entrance of the university.

"How about I drop you at the teaching building?" He grinned as he stopped the car near the entrance.

"You are nuts." She unfastened her seat belt and stepped out of the car.

"Hey!" Spencer leaned over and looked through the passenger seat window as he called out to her. "Do well in your exams today and don't forget to call me."

"Okay, I will. You can go." Fiona waved to him. Then, suppressing her unwillingness to let him go, she walked towards the teaching building, carrying her backpack.

Keeping one hand on the steering wheel, Spencer watched as Fiona disappeared into the crowd. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number. "Follow her closely and report to me if anything happens."

"Yes, sir."

"Also keep an eye on Celine and update me from time to time." Spencer frowned.

"Understood, sir!"

He hung up the phone, started the car, and drove to the base.

Fiona entered the teaching building for her finals. The classroom was noisy. Sophia and Ella waved to her as they'd already saved her a seat.

"Fiona!" Standing in the last row of the classroom, Sophia signaled for Fiona to come over. "Come over here!"

"Okay!" Fiona smiled and walked towards them.

Ella stood up and welcomed Fiona to her seat with a grin. "Here comes our savior! Come sit down. Would you like some water?"

Fiona giggled. "Ella, stop sweet-talking me! I'm not used to it!"

"Well, you'd better get used to it then!" Sophia sat next to her and batted her eyelashes. "Are you hungry? Did you have your breakfast? Can I take a look at your test paper later?"

"I'm not hungry. I had breakfast. And yes, you can take a look at my test paper later." Fiona smiled at her.

"Then we won't have any difficulties." Ella raised her eyebrows and laughed. "I can only pass the test only by copying."

"Are you upset that we copy your answers?" Sophia asked with concern in her voice.

"No, of course not." Fiona shook her head. "Although learning it yourself will help you a lot more, I won't force you to study since I know you hate mathematics. And if I can help you pass the test, I'll do everything I can for my friends."

"Oh, Fiona, you have such a big heart." Sophia leaned over and gave her a hug.

Fiona raised her eyebrows. "Oh, I don't think I do, because..."

"Because what?" Sophia prompted with a frown. "Well..."

Fiona paused dramatically. "I don't think you'll get good marks even if you copy from me!"

"Humph!" Ella crossed her arms and snorted. "Looks like you've changed a lot lately."

"Yes! Well, it looks like you've become more cheerful now. You're even joking around with us! I don't know who inspired this change in you." Sophia shot Fiona a crooked smile and winked at her.

Fiona was shocked. "Have I really changed?"

"Of course, look at you. You are laughing way more than you used to and you seem more lively now. It's amazing." Ella thought for a while before she spoke. "You are much closer to me now than when I first met you."

"Yeah, that's exactly how I feel."

Fiona frowned as she thought to herself, 'I've become more cheerful? Has Spencer changed me?'

As she was contemplating this, the bell rang.

Professor Steve entered the exam hall, adjusted his glasses, and walked to the stage with a package in his hand. "Everyone, put your books and materials away! Let's begin the exam."

The students groaned in unison.

As soon as Fiona got her copy of the test paper, she scanned through the pages and felt like it was much easier than usual. After all, it was only an elective course and the professor was an amazing teacher.

"Why is this seat left empty?" Professor Steve walked towards the seat in the first row. "Are there any absentees?"

"No, Professor Steve. Have you forgotten? Ryan went abroad for higher studies a few months ago. It used to be his seat," one of the students replied.

Fiona turned and looked at the seat, feeling a little empty inside.

"Okay, let me distribute the remaining test papers!"

For a long time, there was complete silence except for the rustling of papers and the gliding of pens across the sheets.

Fiona's problem-solving speed was quite slow as she feared that Sophia and Ella wouldn't be able to copy if she finished writing her answers too fast.

Two hours later, the bell rang. The exam had finally come to a halt.
