Sophia went back to the company with Jason. She searched everywhere for Fiona but couldn't find her, so she called her to ask her why she had left work so early. After hearing the reason Fiona had left, she banged the table and yelled, "I'm not going to work here either!"
Fiona was lying on her couch when Sophia called. "Don't do anything rash."
"I'm not. I'm just pissed off! I should have known he would do something like that. What an asshole! Charles is a bad man. He's so disgusting. I can't believe that he wants to sleep with you even though he has so many girlfriends," Sophia said angrily. "Fiona, it's best you stay at home for a while."
"Yes, I need to avoid dealing with him, but I can't stay at home all the time." Fiona's lips curled into a shy smile as she looked at her computer screen. "I'm going out tomorrow."
"What? Why? Where?" Sophia asked worriedly.
"Hmm... I'll keep it a secret for now," Fiona said.
"Then go. But be careful!" Sophia cautioned her.
"I will," she assured Sophia. Then, after thinking for a while, she asked, "Do you like working there?"
"No, I don't." Sophia took this opportunity to rant. "Guess what? I went to meet a client today. The woman is a fat swine who looked down on me and insulted me. As if that wasn't enough, Jason yelled at me as soon as I got back. I hate this job. I have no plans to work here anymore."
"I hope what I told you doesn't affect your work and your relationship with the Wen family."
"Did Charles' actions change the way you feel about Ryan? Do you think they're the same?" Sophia questioned.
"What? Of course not," Fiona said without a second thought.
"Okay. Anyway, don't worry about me. I'm just concerned about this issue with Charles. Well, it's all your fault, Fiona. You are too pretty!"
"Are you really blaming me?" Fiona giggled. "Sophia, you're gorgeous too."
"Well, right!" Sophia accepted her compliment with a shy smile. "Is George still working with your husband?"
Upon hearing Sophia mention the word "husband," Fiona flushed red and timidly played with the tassels on the sofa cover. "He's gone back to P City."
"What a pity! When can I meet him?" And then, without leaving any room for Fiona to answer, Sophia asked, "Fiona, what did he look like when he was young? I'm curious!"
"Haven't I told you enough already?"
"How is that enough?"
"I was too young back then. There isn't much I remember."
"Did you two ever play the wedding game? You know, where he played the groom and you played the bride?"
"Well... I don't think so," Fiona said in a thoughtful voice.
"Fiona! I will kill you if you played that game with my George!"
"No! Of course not!" Fiona giggled.
"Good girl!" Sophia smiled and then said in a serious voice, "I miss you so much, Fiona."
"Why do you miss me out of nowhere? We just met this morning."
"Maybe it's because we're going to different places for the holidays. I won't be seeing you for a long time..." Sophia stopped mid-sentence and quickly changed her words. "Anyway, I shouldn't jinx it. Of course we'll meet again, Fiona. I was just speaking nonsense. Please don't mind me!"
Fiona smiled. "No, I understand. I'll miss you too. I'm glad that you're thinking of me! Anyway, have you reviewed your homework? We have an exam on Monday! Be sure to prepare."
Sophia smiled. "I'm not scared of the exam since you'll be there. I'll be waiting for you outside our exam hall on Monday!"
"All right."
"Well, I'll see you then!"
