Take Me Away novel Chapter 120

Fiona was really scared. All of a sudden, she began crying, partly because she wanted to distract Charles, and partly because she was upset that she couldn't just escape with Spencer right now.

"Charles!" Tears streamed down her eyes as she grasped Charles' shirt and blocked his way to the fitting room. "I don't want to try on clothes! Take me away!" she said between choked sobs.

"What's wrong with you?" Charles immediately froze, concerned by her sudden outburst. He didn't like seeing her cry.

Without saying a word, Fiona turned around and showed him her back. As she stood there with her back exposed, she subtly raised her head and saw that the ceiling tiles had been replaced. It seemed that Spencer had left.

"What happened to your back?" Charles suddenly shouted after seeing the part of her back which was exposed by the unzipped dress. There were two long and terrifying scars running down her back.

Regaining her composure, Fiona pressed her lips into a line and turned around. She had known that these scars would draw Charles' attention.

With trembling lips, she said, "Because of the scars on my back, I don't like these clothes. I was afraid that you'd get angry if I didn't wear them, but I don't want to show anyone these scars."

As she spoke, her heart pounded in fear. She hadn't expected that she could come up with a lie all of a sudden, but she hoped that it was convincing enough to trick Charles.

"So that's why you didn't come out?" With a frown, Charles took off his coat and wrapped it around her before pulling her into a hug. "Are you really that stupid? Come with me!" "My clothes!"

Fiona protested, turning back and reaching for her clothes. But she had barely grazed them with her fingers when Charles tightened his grip on her and pulled her away.

He pursed his lips tightly and said, "I'll have them brought to Cherry Grove Residence. Don't do such a stupid thing again."

"Okay." Fiona secretly clenched the phone in her hand, feeling relieved that she had managed to grab it before Charles had pulled her away.

The two of them got into the car and left, accompanied by the convoy.

Meanwhile, Spencer was on the roof. He had overheard Charles and Fiona's conversation in the fitting room and didn't jump out from his hiding spot until he saw them leave.

"Charles, how dare you!" he muttered angrily through gritted teeth. Staring in the direction they had left, he clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles began to crack. He had never imagined that such an evil person could be around Fiona. Now that he had learned that Charles was the one who had kidnapped her, the only thing that was still a mystery was the link between Charles and X. Perhaps the kidnapping of Fiona and Celine had nothing to do with X. Or maybe Charles was a member of X.

That moment, the saleswoman in the boutique came to clean up and suddenly saw Spencer walking out of the fitting room. Her eyes went wide with shock as she hadn't seen him enter the shop, let alone the fitting room. She mumbled something in a language that he didn't understand.

He snorted and glanced at the saleswoman from the corner of his eye before walked out of the store, leaving the employees stunned.

In the car, Charles turned to Fiona. "Do you want to go somewhere else?"

Fiona, who was curled up in a corner, shook her head. She felt miserable. What had happened in the fitting room kept replaying in her mind.

"How did you get the scars on your back?" Charles questioned her.

"I was in a car accident when I was very young," Fiona answered frankly, without showing any emotion.

Charles frowned. He thought of something but didn't say anything further.

The car drove towards Cherry Grove Residence at a steady pace. Although Fiona knew she would be back in her "cage" in a short while, her mindset was a little different than before. This time, she tried to memorize the route that they were taking, hoping it could be of some use to her later on.
