Celine was stunned for a moment after seeing Spencer, but soon a faint smile spread across her face.
‘Ha-ha! That's what I was looking forward to.’
As soon as Fiona heard Spencer’s voice, she quickly pulled herself out of Ryan’s embrace and wiped the tear from the corner of her eye. She turned to him, looking surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"Why are you here?" He glanced at Ryan, then looked back at her. "Come here!"
As he looked on at the couple, Ryan thought about how he had always felt inferior to Spencer. Even if he didn’t want Fiona to leave, there was nothing he could do.
And yet, she looked at Spencer as if she intended to defy him. In return, Spencer narrowed his eyes coldly.
Sophia’s head hurt more the longer she watched what was happening, so her eyes darted around, quickly trying to find a solution.
In the midst of the commotion, the fat woman took the opportunity to leave with the baby in her arms.
"Hey!" Sophia suddenly shouted, grabbing the woman’s arm. "She hit Fiona, and now she wants to run away! Catch her!"
Everyone turned their eyes to her.
"What’s wrong with you?" the woman asked as her eyes flashed with anger. Noticing Spencer staring at her, she scowled. "A lot of people come and go around here! People bumping into each other is normal. What’s wrong with you? I have to go, my baby is crying!"
As if on cue, the child in her arms began to cry once more.
Fiona grabbed Sophia’s arm and shook her head. "It was my fault for running too fast. Please let her go."
Spencer’s eyes narrowed. One look at the woman, and he immediately felt something was off.
She had good taste in clothes—in fact, she wore a thick fur cape, but she didn’t carry any bag to match.
The baby was crying, but what she was swaddling was oddly rounded, as if something had been stuffed in it. As the woman hurried away, Spencer reached out a hand towards her direction. "Stop!"
The woman paused. Charles looked on with raised eyebrows.
"May I have a look at your child?" He strode forward, his right hand hovering near the gun on his waist. His instinct was almost always right, and right now it told him this woman was trouble.
"What’s wrong?" Taken aback, Sophia’s voice trembled. "Is he actually going to take her child away because she bumped into you?"
"I don’t think that’s it." Fiona shook her head. Even she felt something was wrong. The atmosphere at the airport had been a bit strange the whole time, as if a lot of eyes had been following them.
"You’re even weirder!" shouted the woman. "Why should I show you my child? Are you a human trafficker? Are you trying to take my baby away from me?"
"Cut the crap!" In one swift motion, Spencer pulled out the gun and pointed it in between her eyes. "Give me the child now!"
It wasn’t the first time Fiona had seen Spencer shoot, but she hadn’t seen him look as serious he did now. The idea that he could be on a mission flashed across her mind. Was that why he suddenly appeared at the airport?
As soon as he drew out his weapon, four men who were seemingly passersby a moment ago suddenly surrounded the woman.
The woman cried out as she saw them. "This man took out a gun and is trying to steal my child away from me! I don’t know what his problem is. Please help, I’ve just been minding my own business!"
Passengers started to gather around.
