Talented Heiress A Rose with Thorns (Yvette and Wilson) novel Chapter 899

Xavier lowered his gaze, smiling bitterly to himself. He felt as if he would drown from the bitterness in his heart.

"Do you like him that much, Yvie?"

Theodore approached hurriedly as well, proceeding to take the unconscious Yvette's pulse.

"How's Yvie, Mr. Maximillian?" asked Xavier.

"Yvie fell unconscious because she couldn't withstand the pain her body was in!" replied Theodore.

His expression became solemn as he started examining the drug vial that Varian had left behind.

"This is a catalyst that can cause a person's pain to increase a hundred times over!" he declared. "Yvie is in a terrible condition. We must bring her back to headquarters for treatment immediately!"

Xavier pursed his lips tightly at those words. "But I'm afraid you might not be able to handle the trip in your current condition, Mr. Maximi—"

"I can handle it!" Theodore interrupted him, asserting without hesitation. "Yvie's safety is more important!"

He had to push through with this frail body of his in order to cure Yvette, no matter what!

Meanwhile, Wesley found himself surrounded on all sides with nowhere to run, fear written all over his face.

"Who are you people?" he asked, trembling. "Why are you after me?"

Samuel gazed coldly at him, replying, "Because Mr. Quinn wishes to see you."

"Mr. Quinn?" Wesley repeated quietly, the uncertainty in his eyes growing.

He had been kept a low profile all these years, so he didn't recognize any Mr. Quinns at all.

Why was this Mr. Quinn looking for him?

Before he could figure things out, he heard the sound of footsteps. Samuel and the other guards immediately stepped aside respectfully, making way for a cold, dignified man to slowly approach.

There was clearly no emotion on his face, yet his presence was imposing, and he exuded overwhelming pressure.

The moment Wesley saw him, his face went pale, and he trembled violently. He looked as scared as if he'd seen a ghost.
