Taming The Casanova novel Chapter 40

Sahil's POV

I got ready and went to the kitchen to have my morning drink and left a message for my mom that I was going to Delhi for some urgent work.

I could not tell her that I was going to meet Manyata. I didn't know how Manyata would react.

I was ready for everything but I didn't want to give false hope to my mom.  As it is, she had some health issues and we try our level best never to give stress to her because she always panicked on small things.

I didn't know how much time it will take to persuade mannata to give our marriage another chance so I didn't tell my mom otherwise she would be hopeful and if things didn't work out well she would be heartbroken.

I kept my bag and laptop in the car and called Samar to the office.

I reached there and within 15 minutes, he also came in.

" What happened??  What are you doing in office at such an early hour? What's wrong? "

" Nothing is wrong... I have some work in Delhi, so I am going there for a few days and while, Sagar and Damini are not here you have to be here in the office,  after your court.  Just take care and if you need to ask anything, I am just a phone call away." I said and he smiled a bit and then made a serious face again.

Was he crazy?? Why was he behaving weirdly?

" Hey!!  you going to Delhi, but why??  I didn't know there was any urgent work in Delhi...  I can go to Delhi you can stay here, as it is I don't know your work here.  But I can manage the work in Delhi. "

" Thanks, but no thanks.... that's my business and I will deal whatever work, I have in Delhi. You should not bother yourself, that's my business and I will handle it. " I said glaring at him.

" Well fine !!! Don't get so worked up, man.  I was trying to help you. You know,  you can let me know if you need my help I will come to Delhi as soon as you call me. After all, I am your best friend and partner in your business. "

" I said, no thanks.  Whatever business I have in Delhi is only my business....  you are not a partner in that. So stay out of it. "

" Ok... But if by any chance you meet Manu, I mean Manyata, please tell her that I miss her a lot. "

" Why are you missing her? "

" Why can't I miss her... She is my friend, she cooked so many good things for me. She even taught me how to cook. I miss those cooking classes and she is so elegant and sweet just like that paneer kheer. "

" Samar just stop talking about her. "

" But how does that matter to you?? Anyways she is my friend just the way you are. I liked spending time with her. What is your problem?? You never even talked to her. Forget talking you never even looked at her. You wanted your divorce. Right? "

" Samar!!!! .. "

" How sweet she let you go off the hook so easily... If it was any of your so-called girlfriends, they would have taken this opportunity to reap profits. She is an amazing girl... "

" Samar... Enough!!! "

" Hey!! Did you sign the papers?  Give them to me. I will submit them in court so by the time you come back the process would have been already started it will take lesser time. " He said.

" I don't have them here... "

" Then let's go to your home and get them. Uncle is asking again and again. C'mon yaar give me the papers duly signed by you."

" Why???  what is the hurry?? "

" Uncle wants to get it over with. He wants to settle her down fast.. "

" With you?? " I said sarcastically.

" Well, he suggested... I would have thought about it, as she is almost perfect, but then It would be a bit awkward as she is... I mean was your wife. "

" Yes, it would be... And she is still my wife. "

" Not for long... She has already signed the papers and you are going to sign and give them to me. "

" You seemed to be very excited about this divorce. " I was getting angry now.

" After you left, uncle made me understand that it doesn't matter that she was your wife. You never even looked at her. "

" Of course it matters... What about bro code?? " I asked.

" What bro code?? You were never in a relationship with her... Hell, you never even looked at her while getting married. "

" So you are ready to get married? " I was about to kill him.

" Uncle said that I was one of the most eligible boys for his daughter. So, I kind..... of agreed. I said I would marry his daughter. I liked her a lot. Your parents are very happy and excited.  "

" How dare you?? Don't even think about it. Manyata is my wife and I am not going to sign the papers. "

" But why?? "

" Shut up !!! Just get it out of your mind. She is and will remain my wife."

" That's not fair...what about her happiness?? "

" You don't worry about it. She is my wife, so it is my responsibility to give her all the happiness in the world. She will be happy with me not with anyone else. "

" But... I ... "

" Go to hell. And forget about her. Or I will forget that you are my best friend. "

" But Manu?? "

" Shut up or I will lose my temper. " I glared at him and he laughed.
