After a long thought, Callum's mother finally said, "I want Callum to break up with you! We can't accept a daughter-in-law like you in our family."
"I respect your decision!" Eloise replied and stood up to leave.
Callum walked in from the outside, his face full of anxiety.
He turned to look at Eloise, trying to find some clues on her face.
Eloise got it right away.
Delilah didn't like her. Despite Callum's insistence, he couldn't make the final decision.
Eloise did like him.
But given the current situation, she could only stop.
Politely and gently, Eloise said, "Callum, let's just call it off! A marriage without family approval won't be happy... Thanks for your company these days."
But Callum didn't want to end the relationship.
He argued with his mother pale-faced, but Delilah was adamant. Finally, Callum turned to Eloise and whispered, "I can go abroad with you, what do you think?"
Afterwards, he tightly held Eloise's hand.
Eloise felt ridiculous.
This was too humiliating!
In such a family, even Callum had to obey his mother's decision, let alone her?
She gently withdrew her hand and said, "Callum, I don't want this kind of relationship. We're not deeply involved yet, it's not too late to end it now!"
Callum looked at her, his face full of disappointment.
Eloise could tell that he hadn't been doing well these days, probably because he was restrained in the Colman family. But the more it was like this, the less she could go further with him.
She whispered an apology and was about to leave.
In the quiet café, Callum's mother's sharp voice suddenly rang out.
"Ms. Laurent, you don't want this kind of relationship? Do you like being played by Harvey?"
Eloise felt suffocated.
Her relationship with Harvey was genuine, but she didn't get a response in the end. It wasn't her fault.
Why did Delilah have to say this?
Eloise tried to control her emotions and softly said, "Now I understand why Callum is still single at this age! With a mother like you, he probably doesn't even have the courage to pursue girls."
And she was the one he chose!
Eloise glanced at Callum again, not wanting to argue with him, and gently nodded before leaving.
When she left, her eyes were a bit red.
After all, her relationship with Callum was sincere.
But Eloise had her own bottom line and principles. If it didn't work out, then let it be. She didn't want to compromise herself.
She decisively left, and Callum and his mother started arguing.
Delilah's words became more and more harsh, each sentence was like a stab in Eloise's heart. To Delilah, the fact that Eloise didn't accept her son probably hurt more than death!
Eloise walked straight out.
Get in the car, ready to hit the road.
She didn't start the car immediately, but took a tissue to wipe her eyes. Her eyes were a bit red and sore.
The passenger door was opened...
Harvey sat next to her, bringing in the cold wind.
Eloise turned her face, "Harvey, get out!"
Harvey looked at her swollen eyes and softly asked, "Did you break up with Callum? I told you, what's good about being with him? He seems gentle and refined, but he's actually weak-willed!"
Eloise was annoyed and particularly sensitive to his words.
She threw the tissue in her hand at him.
