They had been engaged in the past, but now when they met, they didn’t know what to say.
Max couldn’t even muster the courage to ask about Brett. He'd had countless romantic experiences throughout his life, but deep down he knew, aside from missing out on Eloise, he’d missed out on Orlena too. Now, seeing her again, he felt like he was in another lifetime.
Orlena, however, had moved on. She covered her chest, saying to Eloise, “I need to change!”
Eloise simply smiled and nodded. Then, she saw a look of profound regret on Max’s face but said nothing. Some people only regret what they’ve lost.
Max, with his date, hurriedly left, even skipping the chance to try on a suit. Upon leaving, he bumped into Harvey.
Harvey, parked his car, squinting at Max as they passed each other. When he walked into the Studio, Eloise was still sitting there, drinking tea and flipping through a magazine.
Harvey sat next to her, “You seem pretty calm about meeting an old flame.”
Eloise kept flipping through the magazine, casually replied, “You’re an old flame too... oh, I forgot we were married. So, you’re my ex-husband.”
Harvey felt angry but then laughed. He lowered his voice, “You forget what we did last night? You are still making fun of me?”
Women always lose in a war of words with men. Eloise, thinking about her vulnerable state last night, blushed and called him a “dirty pervert.”
Harvey just smiled lightly. He unbuttoned his suit, took the magazine from her, and started to flip through it, “This one looks great!”
Eloise didn’t continue their verbal war. She leaned in to check.
Harvey, with his arm around her shoulder, looked at her profile and whispered, “After the banquet, let’s go home. I want you to wear this dress and have sex with me.”
Eloise blushed. She knew he had a mind full of unmentionable thoughts, but she did like the dress. Harvey’s taste was indeed impeccable.
She pointed to the dress in the magazine, asking a staff member to fetch it for her to try on, but she didn’t let Harvey watch. Eloise believed that even as a couple, they should always keep some things fresh.
After picking out a dress, Orlena went home first.
Harvey, with Eloise, went to pick up Linda. Later they would go for a photo shoot for Everest Technologies.
Eloise was somewhat hesitant. Harvey knew her concerns. He held the steering wheel, focused on the road, and gently asked her, “Eloise, don’t you think I’m worth your second chance?”
He lowered his voice for fear of Linda hearing, “You’re willing to sleep with me but not marry me?”
Eloise sat back in her seat, quietly watching him.
At a red light, he turned to her, took her hand, and softly said, “Eloise, we can be married and also date. I want to possess you in every way. Give me a chance, and don’t reject me again.”
