Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 253

Eloise had never imagined that Harvey would kiss her in public, especially not at a function like this. She stared wide-eyed at him.

Harvey met her gaze and softly ordered, “Close your eyes.” His lips met hers in a lingering kiss.

Eloise’s body trembled involuntarily. “Harvey, everyone is watching!”

A hint of lust was visible in his eyes. “Let them watch.”

The room fell silent. They were having a full-on make-out session!

At the annual celebration of Everest Technologies, Harvey was passionately kissing his own wife. Who could say that he was celibate, or that he was not interested in women?

The employees of Everest Technologies jokingly offered to bring in a king-sized bed for their CEO.

The Horigan family watched in silence. Pauline, with tears in her eyes, gently covered Linda’s eyes. Parker held his glass of whiskey, chewing Harvey out in his heart for his scandalous behavior.

After a long time, Harvey still didn’t have enough of it. Eloise didn’t want to indulge his madness. She gently played with the buttons of his shirt, whispering, “If we continue, we’ll be the talk of the town tomorrow. Let’s continue at home, okay?”

Harvey gave a soft laugh and let her go.

Their relationship now took a step forward, and he was in a good mood. He would occasionally glance at Eloise while socializing. His longing gaze was enough to make any woman weak at the knees. Of course, Eloise wasn’t immune to his charms either.

Just as they were both feeling something at the moment, Denise approached and whispered something to Harvey.

Harvey frowned. He then handed his glass to Denise and said softly, “I’ll go check on it.” Then he left.

Eloise, who was busy mingling, noticed his departure and approached Denise. “Where did he go?”

Denise hesitated for a moment before revealing, “It’s Ms. Joan. She threatens to jump off from the Everest Hotel if Mr. Horigan doesn’t show up. If anything happens on a day like this, it will cause a lot of trouble for Everest Technologies.”

Eloise nodded understandingly. She could understand the situation. After all, Harvey and Joan had a past together. If anything happened, the press would definitely make a big deal of it.

Eloise was not without worries. However, she had started anew with Harvey. He had promised her that she would be the only one for him, and she believed him.

Therefore, Eloise decided not to go after him. It was not just about trust in Harvey, but also confidence in herself. She was confident that she could keep Harvey’s attention firmly on her.

Just as Eloise was about to return to her socializing, her secretary approached her. “Ms. Laurent, you have a phone call.”

……

Harvey was in an office at the top floor, meeting with Joan. Also present were two staff members. For the evening, Joan had donned a fiery red dress. Unfortunately, her reckless lifestyle had left marks on her body, making her look rather scary in the vibrant color.

Harvey sat behind the office desk, still as dashing as ever despite being in his thirties.

Joan stared at him. She recalled the publicity photo of him with his wife and child. On it he smiled with satisfaction.

He had even kissed Eloise in public!

Tears blurred Joan’s eyeliner as she sobbed, “Harvey, I refuse to believe that you’ve forgotten our past, and I certainly don’t believe that you’ve fallen for Eloise!”

Harvey smoked a cigarette. He held it between his delicate fingers, an appealing gesture. He looked at Joan expressionlessly. “If it weren’t for your dramatic threats of suicide, I wouldn’t agree to meet with you, Joan. I don’t want to discuss who was right or wrong in our past. All I want to say is, stop this nonsense.”

Joan’s lips quivered. “If I jump from here, you won’t care?”

Her expression was manic. “You won’t just stand by! You love me!”

Harvey’s voice was cold. “Joan, I’ve done all I can for you. If you’re determined to jump from here, then the security personnel in this building will have your body removed to a dark alley within a minute, waiting for your family to identify. As for the blood, it’ll be washed away quickly.”

He spoke these words with calm composure. There was no trace of nostalgia in his eyes for their past.

Harvey took a puff from his cigarette. At that moment, he realized that he was attracted to women like Eloise, who would never harm themselves or others over emotions or men. Even though she sometimes annoyed him to no end, he couldn’t help but be drawn to her.

In his thirties, he was certain that Eloise was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Joan laughed. She lowered her voice, “Harvey, everything about you still attracts me. I don’t want to let you go. Soon, Eloise will come here. She’ll see that we’ve met again. Do you think this will annoy her? Will she still lie in your arms and allow you to kiss her?”

Harvey remained seated, but his expression was slightly tense.

Just then, the office door swung open. Eloise stood in the doorway.

Joan’s smile widened. “Eloise, we meet again!”

Eloise walked in slowly. She stood in front of Joan, her voice calm, “Yes, we meet again. What did you call me for, Ms. Joan?”

Joan was taken aback. She lifted her chin slightly, “I just wanted to tell you that Harvey will never abandon me. We’re meeting again, and I don’t believe that you’re not feeling anything.”

Eloise smiled faintly, “If he’s mine, he’ll think of me no matter where he is. If he’s not, even if you were in Britain, he’d still look for you.”
