Ravenna was stunned.
Max, showing no mercy, once again grabbed her long hair, forcing her to look at him. His expression was colder than ice, and he said, "Now you know the consequences of not keeping your mouth shut, huh?"
Ravenna felt pain, but more than that, she was panic. She finally understood why Max was so angry. He didn't want Eloise to know about them!
Ravenna couldn’t accept this truth. She couldn't help but whisper, "But you said you didn't love her!"
"Yes, I don't love her!" Max's smile was even colder, "But who do you think you are? Are you qualified to intervene in my business with her?"
Ravenna began to laugh through her tears. Blood and tears were blended together, ruining her once sophisticated makeup, making her a pitiful sight.
She chuckled, "Max, you're actually in love with her, aren't you?"
......
"I don't love her!" Max denied.
......
Ravenna said, "If you really don't love her, then why do you care if she knows the truth? You don't want her to know you're such a mess, fooling around with any woman who comes your way! If you really don't love her, then why do you go to great lengths to mess with her? Why haven't you touched her in four years? Are you really not interested in her, or can't you bear to? Max, you regret it, don't you? Four years you couldn't bear to touch her. But now she's single, free to do what she wants with whoever she likes."
With red-rimmed eyes, Ravenna blurted out all these words. She thought she had defeated Eloise, but only to realize that she was the fool. From beginning to end, Max had never shown the slightest hint of affection for her. What he cared about, besides power, was Eloise!
She spoke her mind, and got slapped twice by Max for it. Ravenna's lips trembled, but she still laughed, "Max, I don't care if you hit me! What's important is that Eloise will never come back to you. You may get what you want, but you'll never have her!"
"Get out!" Max roared quietly.
Ravenna straightened up, wiped the blood from her mouth, and left proudly.
