Eloise was dumbstruck.
Michelle was as pale as a ghost, "Your father tried to kill himself! He's been revived but it's really serious! Eloise, I beg you to help me find a way to see him! His health has always been poor, and this blow is too heavy for him!"
Michelle covered her face, crying in pain.
Eloise was in a turmoil. She refused to believe that her father, who was as strong as a mountain, would attempt suicide. She had just seen him a few days ago and he looked fine! She immediately called Dominique, hoping that he could help them see Angus.
Dominique had already received the news and was planning to discuss it with Eloise. He asked Eloise to come to his office for a chat.
Eloise comforted Michelle, and they both skipped breakfast and went straight to his office.
Dominique looked very serious. He made several phone calls in front of Eloise and Michelle, but finally put down the phone and shook his head, "He's okay now, but he can't be bailed out. He still needs to receive treatment in the jail."
Because of Landon, Dominique tactfully added a few words, "Eloise, your father's case involves Velona Corporation, can you approach Mr. Velona, and see if there's any room for negotiation?"
Mr. Velona! Max!
Eloise shut her eyes in pain. She should have guessed it was Max's doing! He had done so many outrageous things, just to force her back to him.
But how could she go back?
If Eloise became his mistress, even if her father got out of jail, he would be so angry he might have a stroke! But if she didn't give in, what about her father and Michelle? Would they really have to lose everything?
Eloise sat there in a daze.
Dominique looked at her with some sympathy. He handed Eloise a cup of water and softly said, "Maybe you can talk to Harvey again. I heard from Landon that you two have been getting along well."
Eloise's heart felt like it had been pricked by a needle. That pain was like countless needles piercing her heart.
Dominique was experienced, and he continued, "Harvey is not unreasonable. He just came to me a few days ago for..."
He suddenly remembered Harvey's instructions and didn't finish his sentence. What if Harvey changed his mind? Wouldn't that disappoint Eloise again?
