Eloise hung up on Max, then, in a fit of anger, thumped the car hard.
Eloise!
He started to question, was this the Eloise he knew?
Max was in a rotten mood, refusing to admit that Eloise had gotten under his skin.
She was just a woman he hadn’t managed to get his hands on yet!
Instead of getting his wound bandaged at the hospital, Max drove to a high-end club he frequented. Only the high-rollers could afford to spend in there.
He booked a private room in the club and started drinking alone in broad daylight.
After joining him for a few rounds, the club manager asked amicably, "Mr. Velona, did your girlfriend give you grief? You don’t usually come at this hour. I heard the Horigan family's little princess is obsessed with you!"
Max slouched on the leather couch, eyes half-closed, "Obsessed with me?"
The manager poured him another drink, chuckling, "When a woman’s head over heels for a guy, she'll listen to whatever you say
Max silently downed half a glass.
After a while, he smirked, "So if she stops being obedient one day, does that mean she's not into me anymore?"
"Impossible! I believe in Mr. Velona's charm," the manager flattered.
Seeing that Max was troubled by woman problems, he cleverly called over a young girl.
She was very young and innocent-looking.
"Keep Mr. Velona company, and make sure you give him a good time," the manager said tactfully.
Max was about to refuse when he looked up and was captivated by the girl in front of him.
Her innocent face bore a resemblance to Eloise, especially her profile. Lost in thought, he pulled the girl close and uttered, "Eloise?"
The manager tactfully excused himself.
In the luxurious private room, only the two of them remained.
