Max's eyes flickered.

He was thinking, maybe it was from the club he had been in earlier.

Then he chuckled, "I went to the hospital to change fresh dressing for my wound this morning, it might be the perfume from the nurse."

Orlena didn't look satisfied, she was playing with her nails, cooing, "That little nurse must be young and pretty, right? You must have enjoyed it when she was changing fresh dressing for your wound."

Max laughed.

He gently pinched her face, "Are you really getting jealous over this?"

Orlena loved him deeply, she didn't really suspect him. A little coaxing from him and she would forget it all, leaning on his shoulder with a sweet smile.

Parker was playing chess and said, "You're a lady, be like one!"

As parents, how could they not understand their own child? Harvey had warned that Orlena was too naive and Max would take advantage of her.

But Parker believed his daughter's innocence was a good thing, having a smart guy like Max was actually beneficial.

Max easily overcame this hurdle, the corner of his mouth curling up slightly.

Just then, Pauline came over and said with a smile, "If Harvey isn't coming back, let's eat first. The servants have prepared the food."

Orlena got up, holding onto Max's arm affectionately.

Parker and his wife exchanged a glance and smiled.

The atmosphere in the dining room was great, Max was a good talker, everyone in the Horigan family liked him.

After dinner, Orlena pulled him up to her bedroom on the second floor.

When the door closed, she initiated a kiss... wanting to get intimate with him.

But Max was injured and had been with another woman in the morning, he didn't have the energy to deal with it. Besides, he wasn't in the mood, so he just gave her a few kisses to appease her.

He teased her with a hoarse voice, "Wait a few more days, okay?"

Orlena blushed.

She held his waist, smelling his scent, "I really wish you could take a bath and wash off the perfume scent. But since it's from the nurse, I won't mind it."
