Eloise was still reading those nasty comments, looking all drained.

It broke Veronica's heart to see her like this.

She softly caressed Eloise's hand, whispering, "I'm working on getting those comments deleted."

"Thank you, Veronica."

But they both knew the power of gossip. It seemed pretty much impossible for Eloise to turn things around now…

Eloise gently stirred her coffee, choking back tears, "Veronica, those kids are my blood, sweat, and tears of many years."

Four years of dedication, not only ruined her career, but even her reputation was tarnished.

Eloise really wanted to have a drink, to unwind... If she got drunk, she wouldn't have to think about all this.

"You've come to the right person!" Veronica may not be good at other things, but when it comes to chilling out and drinking, she's an expert.

She took Eloise to a 24-hour underground bar.

Blink, even the name sounded sketchy.

As expected, the moment they stepped in, there was ear-piercing rock music. Young men and women were dressed in skimpy outfits, letting their hormones run wild. The mix of sweat and perfume was intoxicating, assaulting everyone's senses.

"How do you like it? Pretty wild, huh?"

Veronica confidently took her usual seat, pulled out a slim lady's cigarette, lit it and inhaled elegantly.

Eloise never smoked, and Veronica didn't let her.

Veronica ordered a bottle of liquor, got two glasses, and handed one to Eloise.

"You've got a lot of eyes on you, Eloise. You know you look like a bunny in a wolf's lair, right?"

Eloise gave a bitter smile. She wasn't in the mood for all this.

She raised her glass and downed it in one gulp.

Even Veronica was taken aback, she poured another drink for Eloise while telling her, "Take it easy. If you get drunk, how am I going to explain it to Michelle? She's really strict with you."

Eloise was feeling a bit dizzy.

She suddenly remembered that she was living with Harvey now, she had to cook dinner for him tonight... After half a glass of liquor, Eloise was feeling braver and started to resent him more.

He didn't even eat the dinner she cooked last night.

Then she wouldn't cook anymore!
