Viviana looked at Scarlett and wanted to tell Jessie who Scarlett was, but she saw Scarlett shake her head. Viviana signed and smiled.
She thought, 'Forget it. I should respect Scarlett's decision.'
Jessie did not know who Scarlett really was. She only knew that Scarlett was the one who held Kate's urn at Kate's funeral.
But Scarlett didn’t say a word after vaguely introducing herself. And neither Viviana nor Rowan seemed to have any intention of introducing her more. Jessie had to ask again, "Viviana, can you tell me more about Scarlett?" "Oh, Ms. Reed is Rowan's godgranddaughter. Didn’t he use to expect to have a granddaughter? Rowan likes Scarlett, so he treats her as his own granddaughter."
No wonder.
Jessie snorted secretly, but she pretended to be polite to Scarlett. "Oh, Ms. Reed, you're so pretty."
Scarlett took a sip of soy milk and replied," Thanks.”
This was the first time Jessie had encountered such a weird person as Scarlett. She went into a sulk.
Viviana saw Jessie's expression and couldn't help but smile.
Jessie came over every now and then to accompany Rowan. Everyone knew what she wanted. But Jessie was indeed good at flattering people, and she occasionally accompanied Viviana to go shopping, so the Tank family did not refuse her visits.
But if Jessie did something to Scarlett, Viviana knew that Rowan was absolutely unable to tolerate Jessie anymore.
Although Jessie's family members belonged to the Tank family, they were the Tank family's collateral relatives. Besides, they were greedy for the Tank family's assets. Therefore, Rowan did not like them.
"Grandpa, you have Scarlett now. You do not like me anymore, do you?" Jessie asked naively.
Rowan laughed. "I always like you no matter what happens."
Jessie proudly raised her eyebrows at
Scarlett. Scarlett smiled and drew a tissue to wipe her hands slowly. "Grandpa, I'm full.
"I’m full too. Let us go to play chess."
Jessie was so bad at playing chess that Rowan would rather play by himself than play with her. Therefore, every time Jessie came over, she could not do anything else except flatter the Tank family and bring them some so-called handmade pastry.
She did not come here today on a whim. Instead, she had already made an appointment with Viviana to go shopping.
