Flirting With My Ex-husband novel Chapter 7

Alexis was obviously meek and civil in public, but a tyrant at home. She usually said things like "Raymond is a damned man" smoothly but once she met the man in person, she had no guts at all. "Ah, Elder Sister Nicole is calling for you. Go on and talk, go on and talk!"

Afterward, she left right away, leaving Scarlett alone t o face Raymond, who was hiding her anger.

Far away from the battlefield, Alexis still could not resist her nature of being a busybody, hence she turned to look. When she noticed Raymond's dark face, she felt guilty for abandoning Scarlett, which was rare for her to feel this way.

'Oh God, Raymond won’t hit a woman, right?'

Scarlett looked at Raymond in front of her and smiled. "Okay."

She curled her lips and followed him out of Night Party. The two of them stood under the light by the road.

Scarlett had just gotten off the stage earlier. Her earlocks were slightly messy, and her cheeks were a little flushed. She looked at Raymond with her peach blossom eyes while smiling.

Under the dim street light, Raymond realized that

Scarlett somehow had a bit of flair that she did not have in the past.

He seldom paid attention to her throughout their three years of marriage. He thought that it would be a waste of time for him to spare even a glance at a gold-digger who did not know where she stood and had wishful thinking.

Nonetheless, when he occasionally returned to the Shaw Residence once or twice and took a quick glance at her, she was always looking over with gentle and soft eyes.

At this moment, Scarlett was looking at him recklessly and carelessly. Her peach blossom eyes were filled with light, making her look stunning but a bit cold at the same time. "What do you want to say, M r. Shaw?"

Raymond felt even more vexed. He was cold and mean as soon as he spoke, “Since we're divorced, we're no longer related. As an ex-husband, I have no control over who you're with. However, we just got divorced this morning. You might not care about your reputation, but I don't want to be cuckolded for no reason.”

Scarlett felt like she was splashed with a bucket of cold water again. She felt slightly crushed, but she lifted her hand to ruffle the long hair on the side of her face. "But I can't stop anyone from pursuing me, Mr. Shaw."

She chuckled as she added, "If it’s because of this, you don't need to be concerned. Throughout my three years of being married to you, I've been looking after your parents and taking care of the household.

Instead of worrying about others thinking that you’ve been cuckolded, you should worry about people finding out that the Shaw family has been squandering their daughter-in-law's time and how you’ll be able to marry an appropriate woman of quality in the future!"

Having wasted three years of her life, Scarlett no longer wanted to waste even a second on Raymond.

"Secretary Lewis should've delivered my message to you that day. Since we’re divorced, we're strangers now." 2

She looked at Raymond and curled her lips as if she was mocking herself but also as though she was ridiculing him.

Scarlett turned around and returned to Night Party. Raymond stood under the street light with a frightening gloomy face.

He slightly frowned as he watched Scarlett’s back. He had to restrain himself to suppress the anger in his heart.

She was the one who crashed inside recklessly, but she was pretending to be wronged and aggrieved at the moment. Raymond only felt that it was ridiculous, and he also thought that he was funny.

Would it not be good if he was sleeping at home tonight?

Why did he have to come here to humiliate himself? H e really had nothing better to do.

At this moment, the phone in Raymond's pocket vibrated. He relaxed his eyebrows and reached inside his pocket to take out his phone.

His black eyes moved when he saw the caller ID. "Is something wrong?”

"Ray, I accidentally got followed. The person is very aggressive. C-can you come over? I'm scared!"

Julie’s voice trembled on the other end of the call as if she was going to cry at any time.

Raymond's face was cold. "I'll ask Frank to go over."

"Secretary Lewis will do too, but my older brother has sent me that person’s information today. If it's convenient for you to come over, I'll give you the information as well. Can you, Ray?"

Raymond looked at Night Party's colorful sign. He fell silent for a while before he asked, "Where?"
