Scarlett shook her head, looked down at the phone in her hand, pursed her lips for a moment, and called Chris's number.
However, no one answered the phone.
Scarlett called again, but still, no one answered.
Scarlett tapped into the WhatsApp dialog box with Chris. Chris hadn’t replied to the message Scarlett had sent her twenty minutes earlier when Chris got off the plane that she had arrived safely.
It was normal for Chris not to answer the phone at 1:00 in the morning.
After all, Chris would have been asleep at that time.
The panic Scarlett felt at that moment just now made her a little uneasy.
"Ms. Reed, is something wrong?"
Katherine had rarely seen Scarlett like this, so she couldn't help but ask Scarlett.
Hearing Katherine's voice, Scarlett tilted her head to look at Katherine. She shook her head. "It’s nothing.”
Maybe she was overthinking it.
Scarlett closed her eyes again and raised her hand to rub her temples.
The car soon pulled up in front of Clear Waters, and Scarlett got out and walked inside. As she arrived at the private room, Alexis happened to be coming out of the elevator.
"Lettie, are you not feeling well? Why do you look so pale?"
Scarlett withdrew her thoughts. She glanced at Alexis and laughed. "You look pretty nice."
Alexis raised her hand and touched her cheek. "Have I put on weight lately?"
Scarlett stepped into the private room and hung her jacket over the chair. Then she looked back at Alexis and sized her up. " You're quite self-aware."
Alexis knew she was fat. As an actress, she had been very strict about having a good figure.
Alexis knew it well in her mind when she tried to measure her weight with the scale in the morning. However, when Alexis heard Scarlett tell her so directly, she felt that her heart was stung by Scarlett’s words. Soon, Alexis came to her senses. " It's okay. It’s okay for me to be fat now anyway."
