After the water boiled, Scarlett poured a glass of boiling water and added a bag of tea. She put it on the table and then held her chin, looking at Raymond in front of her through the rising steam. "You restored your memory more than two months ago?"
When Scarlett said this, there was a faint smile on her face. But her smile was tinged with coldness.
There were overtones in Scarlett's words, and Raymond could sense them.
"I'm sorry."
Raymond apologized to her sincerely. If his expression was taken a closer look at, it was a little pitiful.
Scarlett snorted softly. "Why do you apologize to me? You needn't do so."
Scarlett was not very angry. But she did feel annoyed just when she realized that Raymond hid the event of his restored memory and what had happened that night from her for so long, even if they two had contacted each other many times during the past two months.
"I didn't hide them from you on purpose. I just wanted to give you a surprise."
"It's a real surprise."
As Scarlett said, she glanced at the ring on her finger.
She put her right hand on the ring and revolved it with her index finger and thumb. Finally, she dispelled the idea of taking it off.
Scarlett paused for a moment and then uttered, "Only your marriage proposal surprises me."
Other things were not surprising at all.
