Chapter 325 Don’t Blame Me for Being Harsh
Terrence panicked in an instant and rushed out of the cabin with Alexa in his
arms.
It was tense and depressing in the operating room of Butterness Hospital in the
middle of the night.
Terrence stood alone outside the operating room and uneasily took over a
dozen documents handed over by the nurse.
When he signed, Terrence’s hands were as cold as ice.
“Please do your best.” Terrence rarely said something like this. “You must not let
anything happen to her.”
Under Terrence’s firm tone, there was great uneasiness and fear.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Ramsey. Dr. Cooper and the other experts are trying their
best.”
After the nurse finished speaking, she hurried into the operating room.
In the empty corridor, there was only the lonely figure of Terrence.
It was not until daybreak that the indicator light of the operating room went out.
Terrence could not wait to go up. When David came out of the operating room,
his entire body was drenched in sweat.
“The wound was so deep that the carotid artery was almost cut,” David said with
a serious face. “Fortunately, you took her here in time, otherwise we could not
be able to save her.”
“How is she now?”
“She’s okay for now. She should wake up in three or four hours.” “Thank you.”
Terrence breathed a sigh of temporary relief and rubbed his forehead in
exhaustion.
David was also very worried when he saw Terrence like this.
“You have to take care of yourself. Don’t get too tired.” David frowned in worry. “I
heard from your mother that you haven’t been sleeping more than two hours a
day.”
“I’m fine.”
Terrence patted David on the shoulder and followed the nurses who were
sending Alexa to the ward.
Alexa was not in a stable condition yet. Terrence did not call his parents for the
time being.
Terrence was handling the company’s paperwork in the ward. When he replaced
the bouquet in the vase on the nightstand with fresh red roses, Alexa slowly
woke up.
“Alexa?” Terrence immediately leaned over the bed and held her hand. “You’re
awake!”
Alexa looked at him, a trace of confusion flashing across her eyes.
“I’m… What happened?”
The wound on her neck was painful. Alexa frowned uncomfortably and paused
for a moment.
“It’s okay now.”
Terrence carefully wiped off the sweat on Alexa’s forehead with a handkerchief,
but the confusion in Alexa’s eyes made him feel a little
strange.
“What’s wrong?”
Hearing this, Alexa stared at Terrence for a long time and even spoke somewhat
uncertainly.
“Terrence?”
“It’s me.” Terrence nodded and smiled gently. “We are back in New York.”
After a long time, Alexa nodded slowly and spoke as if she was talking to
herself.
“Yes, we have returned to New York, but… Why can’t I remember what
happened before?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Terrence’s tone was very gentle, gradually soothing Alexa.
“You are just too tired.” He smoothed the light hair on the side of Alexa’s
face and said, “You’ll get better after a good sleep.”
Alexa did not doubt this and closed her eyes again.
The warm winter sunlight poured through the blinds. Soon, Alexa felt sleepy
again.
After she fell asleep, Terrence’s face was no longer as calm as before, but
cold and solemn.
He immediately found David.
Alexa’s eyes were clear, and she narrowed her eyes lazily to look out of the
window.
“The weather is great today.” Alexa looked at Terrence sideways as if she
was asking for approval. “I want to go out for a walk.”
“Of course, I’ll go with you.”
Terrence went forward and carefully helped Alexa undo her patient gown
and change into a set of clothes that she liked.
“I asked Dr. Cooper. He said that the wound healed well.”
“Yes.”
“I told you so.” Alexa smiled sweetly. “I won’t die so easily.”
“Don’t say anything like that again.” Terrence suddenly became a little serious.
“You can’t hurt yourself in the future.”
“Got it.”
Alexa nodded obediently and subconsciously held Terrence’s arm.
Terrence always liked it when she did this. The corners of his mouth curved
up slightly. Terrence chose a private garden and asked Yareli to bring Damarion
over.
He took care of Alexa and Damarion at the same time with ease.
Damarion hadn’t seen Alexa for days, so he couldn’t move a step from her.
This little guy clearly wanted to play, but now he just held Alexa’s hand and
followed her step by step.
“Damarion, did you miss Mommy?” Alexa asked with a smile.
“Yes!”
Damarion’s answer was very clear, and it suddenly made Alexa feel like
crying.
“Then I will never leave you again, okay?”
“Okay!”
Damarion was at an age that needed his parent’s indulgence the most, but he seemed to be much quieter than his peers.
Alexa suddenly felt that Damarion might be hiding a lot of emotions in his heart, but he did not cry or make a fuss. Instead, he showed his emotions with pure and genuine smiles.
The more it was like this, the guiltier Alexa felt.
While she was distracted, Terrence tightened his grip on Alexa’s hand.
“What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking…” Alexa muttered as a warm smile broke across her face, “Winter seems to be over soon.”
