Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love novel Chapter 138

Nancy looked nonchalant. Her face was devoid of any expression.

Her indifference made Charles immensely sad. It broke his heart. He wasn't expecting Nancy's attitude towards him would change so drastically. Didn't she care about him at all?

He looked at her crestfallen. "Nancy, do you really have no feelings for me? Don't you care about me at all? I don't love her. Don't you believe my words Nancy? I'm telling you the truth," he pleaded. But when she didn't respond to him, his demeanor changed in a blink. He pushed Nancy against the wall by her shoulder as anger flashed through his eyes.

He leaned forward and pressed his lips on hers, kissing her desperately trying to make her believe him. The kiss was angry, long but passionate at the same time.

Nancy was taken aback with his sudden action. She tried to free herself from his grasp. "Uh... Charles, let go of me!" But she was way too fragile compared to his broad masculine frame. She couldn't utter a single word after that as Charles shut her off with another hard kiss.

Dorothy was flabbergasted by Charles's ferocity. She couldn't believe her eyes at what she was seeing. It made her angry and at the same time she was jealous of Nancy. What she couldn't get from Charles, Nancy was receiving without even trying.

She watched then with a vicious glare and cursed Nancy in her mind. Nancy was the kind of woman who attracted men like sirens attracted unwary sailors to doom.

At that moment, Frederic called out from downstairs, "Charles, Drew and Sherry are here."

When Charles heard that, he abruptly broke the kiss and took a step away from Nancy. He wasn't expecting guests at that moment. It took him by surprise. Nancy took the opportunity to push him away before running to Bobby's room.

Charles heaved a deep sigh as he watched Nancy run away from him. He smoothed down his clothes then turned to go downstairs.

However, Dorothy had another plan. She pretended she didn't see them making out and trotted over to Charles. When Charles noticed her, she flashed a phony smile at him and raked her arms around his hand. "Charles, let's go downstairs and meet them together."

Charles frowned at her absurd act. He didn't like what she was doing, so he refused her by trying to pull away his arm from her grasp.

However, Dorothy didn't let go.

Frederic shouted again from downstairs, "Charles, come down with Dorothy quickly."

Although Charles was annoyed with Dorothy’s advancement, he ignored her for now, considering the urgency on hand. Without saying anything to her, he went downstairs hurriedly. Dorothy tried to keep up with him, but stumbled upon catching up with his quick pace.

"Charles..." As soon Charles descended the last step of the staircase, Drew stood up hurriedly to greet him.

"Uncle Drew." With a scowl, Charles came and sat down.

"Charles has been having a hard day, Drew. Please don't mind his indifference." Frederic quickly tried to cover up for Charles’s sour behavior.

"Oh. Don't worry about that, Mr. Frederic. We understand the various obligations a responsible person like Mr. Charles must go through," Drew nervously glanced between Frederic and Charles, with a fake tight-lipped smile.

Frederic called out one of the servants. "Bring tea for us." Frederic had to order for the tea himself, realizing Charles was not going to do it. He was here but his mind was somewhere else.

When the servant brought the tea, Dorothy eagerly took the tray from him and smiled. "Grandpa, let me help you.” Frederic nodded as Dorothy poured the tea into the cups then handed them first to Frederic, then Charles and finally her parents.

Frederic was impressed by how Dorothy behaved lately. "I see Dorothy had become so thoughtful," Frederic praised her with a satisfied look as he sipped his tea.

"She has always been the obedient child since her childhood." Sherry nodded Frederic before glancing at Charles as she said, "Charles and Dorothy grew up together. They know each other very well, I think. Don't you Charles?"

"Don't beat around the bush." Charles finally looked at her with an unrelenting stare. "Whatever you have in mind, come to the point." He actually sneered while saying so.

Charles knew already how arrogant and wicked Sherry was. So, he paid no heed in being respectful and considerate towards her.

"Mr. Frederic, we learned Dorothy accidentally had injured Bobby's hand. We came here to see him." It was Drew who spoke cautiously, avoiding to anger Charles.

"Oh. I know Dorothy didn't mean to hurt him. It was an accident," he said with a half-hearted smile.

"Yeah, accidents do happen all the time. Not always we can be careful. Also, we came here for something more. I mean, since Charles has broken up with Dr. Nancy, we thought maybe Dorothy and he would get back to be together," Drew nervously said before his eyes found their ways to Charles's frowning cold face. It made him stop and gulp down.

"You want Dorothy to be engaged with Charles?" Frederic's eyebrows furrowed at the suggestion.

"Uncle Drew, I'm surprised at how you thought it would be okay to suggest something like that. But I don't feel a least bit of sorry while disagreeing with your proposal. " Charles almost snarled before standing up and stormed out of there.

"Charles!" Frederic called after him. He couldn't believe his grandson was being so disrespectful in front of him. He lost his temper at his arrogance and almost roared.

He was so loud that Nancy too heard it from upstairs.

"Mommy, what's happening between Great Grandpa and Daddy?” Bobby asked her confused and slightly scared as he grabbed Nancy's hand.

Nancy leaned forward and kissed the kid's forehead and smiled. "Nothing that you should be afraid of. They're fine, Bobby. Come here. I'll tell you a story."

"Mommy, please don't leave me ever. Can you tell stories to me every day?" Bobby was worried that his mother would leave as soon as his hand got healed.

"Bobby," Nancy felt sorry for him, but she didn't know how to comfort him.

She knew Frederic wanted Dorothy and Charles to get engaged. Even if Charles didn't agree, he would eventually under Frederic and Angelina's pressure. He'd eventually compromise.

Although Nancy knew it'd happen sooner or later, today when the topic was brought up, it made her sad to think Charles with someone else.
