How could Nancy not know what Jessie was thinking? She was timid but sinister and scheming.
The villain might be someone like Jessie.
Jessie rolled her eyes and said, "Director Nancy, just treat her like the child that she is. Don't lose your cool with her."
Nancy shrugged, "It doesn't matter. I'm not particularly close with her."
"That's good. Keep it that way. Director Nancy, I'm leaving now." Jessie smiled before she stood up and walked out.
"Okay,” Nancy said to Jessie's retreating figure coldly.
Back in her office, Jessie thought about the situation for a while and felt more and more uneasy. She wanted to know the truth, but she didn’t know if she could handle it.
What on earth did Anna do to Nancy? And how did Nancy fight back?
Jessie was worried about it but now that she had an idea, she was caught in a situation where she couldn't ask anyone about it.
Now, Anna and Nancy were both calm. And Jessie was the one stressing about it!
Anna was also distracted during the operation.
Although her father had helped her cover up the situation, she knew that someone must have been following her, or else she wouldn't have anything on her record.
Who could it be?
Was it Nancy?
Anna continued to ponder over this question as the nurse, Erin, approached her.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Anna asked, raising her eyebrows at the nurse.
"I just put the patient on a drip." Erin didn't know much about Anna. She didn't trust anyone, except Nancy.
"Erin, I think you are nothing but Nancy's dog. You are even willing to be bossed around by her! Tell me, how much did she pay to buy your loyalty? Humph!" Anna said arrogantly.
Erin was a timid person who hated confrontation. She didn't want to provoke Anna at all. This situation had escalated too quickly for her, and she just wanted to leave.
Before she could make her exit, Anna grabbed her arm and asked, "I asked you a question. Tell me how much Nancy paid you. How about I give you double that amount?"
Erin was starting to get anxious that her face turned red. "Dr. Nancy is not the kind of person. She didn't give me anything."
"Humph, she didn't give you any benefits? So you're doing all this for free? How pathetic! How could you be willing to follow her?" Anna sneered arrogantly.
"If you don't believe me, that's on you. Whatever I told you is the truth," Erin argued. Her face was completely red now.
"Oh? Then, I was right. You were born to be Nancy's bitch!"
"Why, you-" Jessie might be devious but no one could top Anna's viciousness.
Erin might appear weak but when push came to shove, she would stand up to protect what little self-esteem she had. She raised her hand and slapped Anna hard.
But she was too short. Anna grabbed her hand before her slap could land on her face.
"Bitch, how dare you hit me? I can make you lose your job in a minute. Do you understand?" Anna gritted her teeth and returned the slap to Erin.
"Ah!" Erin gasped out in pain and fell to the ground.
Anna snorted arrogantly and left the other woman clutching her cheek in her hand.
Erin cried silently.
She did nothing wrong. She was just being kind. Why would Anna bully her?
The more she thought about it, the more upset she became. She covered her face and went back to the nursing station.
"Erin, what happened with your face?" someone asked.
