Charles looked at Nancy in disbelief. How could this girl be so happy after fighting with others?
"Nancy, are you crazy? Why are you are laughing?"
"Anna is no match for me, so I didn't abuse my power to defeat her. After all, I'm not one with a bad temper. It's Anna who takes pleasure in bullying others. So when she hit a nurse in my department, I got very angry and went on to argue with her. What do you think? Was I right?"
"Yes, you were right. It's just... I thought that since the police didn't deal with the matter, you mentioned last night, you decided to take matters in your own hand and deal with it yourself." Charles was worried about her the entire day. Yet, Nancy didn't call him once. Frustrated, he thought, 'Since you don't want my help, then I won't meddle in your affairs.'
He deemed it a good chance to properly "teach" her.
But all of Charles' expectations went out the window when the two women began fighting.
For a nurse at that!
"No, no. I always take a long view. Anna always acted in an extremely arrogant and bossy manner in front of everyone. To bring her down a peg, I had to teach her a hard lesson," said Nancy.
"Well, I support you." Charles smiled. "Remember, if you have any problem, just call me. I will always be there to help you." "And haven't I told you that I can take care of myself!" said Nancy impatiently.
"Okay." As soon as Nancy acted like a spoiled child, Charles would give in.
The two of them chatted and came to kindergarten.
Charles seldom took Nancy to the kindergarten to pick up Bobby and Nadia.
When Bobby and Nadia ran out of the kindergarten and saw Nancy, they beamed in shock. "Mommy, Daddy, both of you came to pick us up!"
"Yes!" Charles said with a smile.
"Mommy!" Nadia rushed to Nancy.
Nancy responded and held Nadia in her arms.
"Daddy." Acting like a serious and mature adult, Bobby came to Charles and said, "I have an important question for you."
"Just say it." When Charles saw the two children, his eyes were full of simpers.
"Can Mommy and Daddy pick us up every day?"
Nancy's happy face darkened when she heard Bobby's words.
"Ahem... Mommy is very busy," Charles explained.
"Then, what about once every two days?" Bobby asked again. Nancy also wanted to pick them up every day. However, Nancy's busy schedule just wouldn't allow her to make some free time.
And she was even more unwilling to disappoint her children.
"Can I answer this question after thinking for a while?" Charles rubbed Bobby's head as he asked.
"Okay, Daddy." Standing between Nancy and Charles, Bobby held both of their hand and said excitedly, "Daddy, Mommy, I wish you can come to pick us up every day like this!"
"Yes!" Nadia quickly ran towards Bobby and made space for herself between Nancy and Charles. Finally, holding hands like Bobby, she nodded enthusiastically.
Looking at the lovely two children, Charles said with a smile, "Let's go. Daddy will take you to dinner."
On the road, filled with scattered families, only one looked perfect-a family of four walking hands in hand.
Bobby and Nadia were very happy. Charles also looked energetic, but only Nancy looked depressed.
When they arrived at the hotel, Charles ordered the children's favorite dishes and also the dishes that Nancy liked.
The waiter served the dishes one by one. As they were being served, Nancy's phone rang. "Yes, it's Doris!"
When she saw Doris' name, Nancy became energetic in an instant.
"How are you doing recently? Are you still suffering from morning sickness?" she asked happily
"I haven't vomited for a long time. I'm fine now. Where are you?" asked Doris.
