When the call ended, Nancy nervously walked towards Charles. "Is there any news about Edward?"
In a hurry, Charles put on his coat and glanced at her. "Yes, I'll go and have a look. Just stay at home."
Then he walked towards the stairs, but Nancy followed him. "I want to go with you!"
"You are a woman. You'd better stay here. It's dangerous to go there," said Charles as he went downstairs.
But Nancy was firm with her decision. "I'll be more worried if I stay here and do nothing! You'd better let me go with you."
Defeated, Charles didn't say anything more.
Although Doris was her friend, she couldn't help but doubt. "Doris has always been careless and unreliable. Can you believe her words?"
With a lopsided smile, he replied, "She could be right or wrong, but let's have a look first."
"I hope she's not mistaken. Edward has been missing for two days!" Nancy prayed.
They drove to the address given by Doris.
On their way, Nancy felt nervous. She didn't know what they would face.
When in danger, the first person she thought of was the police, so she suggested,
"Let's call the police, shall we?"
As soon as they arrived, Charles explained, "We haven't figured out the truth yet. It's not appropriate to call the police."
After all, it was just news from Doris. They were not sure it was true or not. It would be embarrassing to disturb the police if it wasn't true.
"Whose house is this?" asked Nancy.
"I've checked it. It belongs to a man named Tom, but I don’t know who that person is. Does Edward know him?"
"No, I've never heard of it from him." She knew most of the people associated with Edward.
But it was the first time that Nancy had heard of this name.
It was Charles who got out of the car first, and looked around the courtyard. It was a shabby scene, as if no one lived there.
Did Doris mistake him for someone else?
But Charles didn't think so. Jay had seen Edward's photo before, and so did Doris.
What was wrong?
He walked towards the villa.
The door was rusty and it seemed that it hadn't been opened for a long time.
When he was about to climb over the wall, an old voice came, "Sir, what are you doing?"
Charles looked up and saw an old man at the door.
Respectfully, he replied, "I’m looking for someone."
The old man smiled awkwardly. 'Tm living alone here. Who are you looking for?"
Well, Charles sensed something, so he fixed his eyes on the old man. 'Tm looking for a man named Edward."
Although the old man felt a little uneasy, he was not scared at all. "Sir, you've come to the wrong place. There's no Edward here."
At this time, Charles' eyes went cold. "Do you mean, you don’t want me to come in and search your house?"
The old man didn't budge at all. "Well, no one can enter other people's house as he likes! Sir, you can't either!"
With furrowed brows, Charles said, "I don't want to trespass into your house, but I got the news that Edward is indeed here." All of a sudden, Hiram appeared with his men.
"Why are you here?" Charles was overjoyed to see Hiram.
"It's Mr. Fang who called me. He said you are here," said Hiram.
In his mind, he was thankful that they came.
With a nod, he ordered, "Take someone in."
"Yes, sir." Like what he had said, Hiram instructed his subordinates to search the house.
When Charles took out his phone to call the police, Nancy got out of the car.
