Maxine stated her name.

As the guards of the Callahan family, it was impossible for them not to know about Floret Palace's Maxine. She was not only the Master of Floret Palace but also Tacriyrus' Chancellor. She was also very powerful in her own right.

"If it isn’t Maxine, the Master of Floret Palace. What brought you to the Callahan’s villa?” asked Lex.

"Master, take a seat.” Others were inviting Maxine to sit.

Maxine sat down. She looked at Lex, who was the head of the family, then at Winnie, who was drinking milk.

“Here's the thing. James is still concerned about Winnie staying at the Callahans' villa. He specifically requested that I come and take Winnie away."

"Really?" Lex looked doubtful.

Even the rest of the Callahans were puzzled.

James just left yesterday. He did not say anything as he was leaving. Why would he ask Maxine to come and take Winnie away now?

"Maxine, did James really ask you to come?” Gladys looked unconvinced.

‘We could find out if it's true with a simple phone call, couldn’t we?" said David.

“Right.” Lex immediately took out his phone and called James.

A lot of things that happened were connected to her. It was just that Maxine did not do anything after that, so James ignored her for the time being. Maxine going to the Callahans' villa at this time was not something he had anticipated.

Maxine's laughter came over the phone. “Don’t worry. I'll never hurt her. She's you and Thea’s child. I want Thea herself to kneel before me and beg.”

James wanted to say more, yet Maxine had already hung up the phone.

His face darkened. With a murderous expression, he clenched his fist and said coldly, "If Winnie is harmed in any way, I won't ever let you get away."
