James had arrived at a huge mountain range. If he was in better condition and still had his Path Powers, leaving the mountain range would be easy for him.

He did not concede and attempted to get up once more. As he stood up, he saw an old man before him.

He looked at the old man puzzledly and asked, “Who are you?”

The Boundless Master stroked his white beard and said smilingly, “You can call me the Boundless Master.”

James’ brows furrowed, and he fell into thought. He had no recollection of a powerhouse called the Boundless Master. However, there was mention of him in Wyot’s memories.

James looked at the intimidating old man and said, “If I understand correctly, there used to be a powerful sect called the Boundless Sect in the Sky Burial Age. The Patriarch of said sect is called the Boundless Master. The Blithe Master who created the Blithe Omniscience is his disciple. Could you possibly be the Blithe Master’s mentor?”

The Boundless Master caressed his beard, and replied cheerily, “You sure do know a lot.”

A glimmer of hope suddenly shined in James’ heart.

He knelt on one knee and said, “I’m James Caden from the Human Race. It’s an honor to meet you, Boundless Master. Please, save me.”

The Boundless Master did not respond to his plea. Instead, he raised a question. “What’s your trial? What do you need to do to leave this illusion?”

Curious, James asked, “What kind of place is Mount Boundless? Why did you say it would be hard for me to escape?”

The Boundless Master replied, “Mount Boundless is our holy site. There are powerful formations set up around it. You’ll need to be highly learned in various Paths as well possess rock-solid mental fortitude. Had you not lost your proficiency and powers in the different Paths, leaving might have been possible. The Boundless Master paused and shook his head. He gently waved his hand, and a powerful force lifted James from the ground.
