The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Fifty Six

The sun had barely begun its ascent when I found myself putting on my openfingered gloves for yet another training day. The ache in my muscles from yesterday’s grueling session still lingered, but I will push through. I fefused to show weakness, especially in front of Commander Lynne, who seemed to sniff out even the slightest hesitation and mistaking it for weakness like a bloodhound.

Today’s run had been mercifully shorteronly ten laps around the arenayet my lungs burned by the time I staggered to a halt. My mates, ever composed and barely winded, gathered beside me, exchanging curious glances when Commander Lynne’s sharp voice rang across the grounds.

Line up!

21

My mates and I immediately obeyed, standing shoulder to shoulder before our taskmaster. Lynne paced in front of us, her sharp gaze piercing through each of us like an arrow.

Today, you will learn the fundamentals of sparring,Lynne announced. Strength and endurance are meaningless if you can’t fight. Combat is where warriors are forged.

Austin, predictably, smirked at the declaration, his cocky energy rolling off him like a wave. Finally! Time to see who the best really is.

Commander Lynne arched an eyebrow, unamused. You won’t be the one deciding that, pup.

Before Austin could retort, Lynne clapped her hands sharply. Pair off! Elijah, you’re with Alex. Austin, you’ll fight Isaiah.*

I furrowed my brow, and I watched as my mates stepped toward the center of the arena to the ring. My heart pounded with excitementand a bit of nervousness. Were they really going to fight each other?

Elijah and Alex faced each other in the center of the ring, their stances shifting into combatready positions. Alex grinned wolfishly, bouncing lightly on his feet. Don’t go easy on me, Eli.

Wouldn’t dream of it,Elijah said smoothly, his gaze focused and calculating.

Commander Lynne gave a curt nod. Begin!

The fight was over faster than I anticipated. Elijah moved like liquid, his strikes precise and unrelenting. He was a true Alpha, his strength unmatched. Alex, while strong and confident, couldn’t keep up with the controlled ferocity of his opponent. A quick sweep of Elijah’s leg sent Alex sprawling to the ground with a grunt.

Elijah stood over him, offering his hand. Better luck next time.

Alex groaned but took the offered hand, laughing. Yeah, yeah. I let you win.

Sure you did,Elijah muttered, shaking his head.

Now a few witches who were also training came to watch. I had a feeling they were not interested in the fight but just wanted to google

Austin practically crackled with energy as he stepped forward to face Isaiah. Ready to lose, big guy?

Isaiah smirked faintly, his demeanor calm and unreadable as always. We’ll see.

Lynne barely got the word Begin!out before Austin launched himself forward, all raw power and aggression. Isaiah dodged the first strike, countering with a measured jab that Austin barely avoided. For a moment, it looked like Isaiah had the upper hand, his movements steady and deliberate.

But Austin had an edgeunpredictability. Midspar, he feinted left, then barreled into Isalah’s chest, tackling him to the ground with a triumphant shout.

Pinned, Isaiah exhaled sharply. You’re lucky brute force works for you?

Austin grinned, unrepentant. A win’s a win.

As my mates stepped back, shaking off sweat and grinning like overgrown pups, I shifted nervously. What about me?I asked, looking between Commander Lynne and the others. Am I sparring with one of them? I have never sparred with anyone nor have i ever been in a fight before.

Commander Lynne’s lips curled into a sharp smile. No.She turned and gestured toward the edge of the ring where other witches were watching. Anna!

Out stepped a young woman I hadn’t noticed before. Anna was lean and fiercelooking, her blonde hair cropped short, her sharp blue eyes almost glacial. Dressed in combat gear similar to Lynne’s, she exuded deadly precision.

This is my protégé,Lynne said. She’ll be your opponent.

I blinked, sizing the girl up. Are you sure? Shouldn’t I-

Don’t hold back,Lynne interrupted.

I straightened. I won’t.

Lynne’s gaze sharpened. I wasn’t telling you, girl.

I felt my wolf growled in irritation, but I didn’t have time to argue. Anna had already taken her place in the ring, her stance fluid

and menacing.

Begin!

I barely had time to react before Anna lunged. The first strike hit me square in the ribs, knocking the breath out of my lungs. I staggered back, gritting my teeth against the sharp pain.

Hey!, Elijah yelled in distress.

Focus!

I tried to block the next blow, but Anna was fasterher movements calculated and relentless. Every strike landed with precision, and I found myself stumbling repeatedly, frustration growing with each fall.

My matesvoices echoed faintly through the haze of my struggle.

Stormi, get up!Austin shouted.

Enough!Isaiah roared, moving toward the edge of the ring.

But it was as if the air shimmered, an invisible barrier keeping them out. Elijah slammed his fists against the shield. Let her out,

Lynne!

Commander Lynne didn’t flinch. She will learn.

By what? Beating her into the ground?Elijah snapped.
