Iris felt the kiss on her cheek again, but this time she knew who was kissing her and she smiled even though she had not yet opened her eyes.
She even lifted her chin, silently asking for more and he gave it to her. He always gave everything to her, even without her asking him.
And this time when the kiss landed on the tip of her nose and then down to her lips, she woke up.
"I have cooked breakfast for you," he said against her lips, which made Iris smiled and opened her eyes lazily.
"I can smell it, but I am too lazy to wake up."
Cane chuckled, he cuddled with her. "Sure enough, you must feel tired because you carry the babies inside you."
Iris opened her eyes and then smile at him. She caressed her bulging stomach and the babies inside kicked in as if telling their mother, they were awake too.
"I have a beautiful dream." Iris relished the kiss on her forehead.
"Tell me what beautiful dreams you had. I am sure I must be in it."
"You are so confidence."
"Am I not?"
Iris squeezed his body. He felt so warm and his scent was her favorite. "Yeah, you were there. What a beautiful dream without you there?"
Cane laughed when he heard that. "And then what dream was that"
"I am not sure. I can’t remember, I only felt very happy. I felt like I have met people that dear to me, as if I have met old friends that I had not seen for a long time. I can’t remember exactly what it was, which is a pity, but I remember the feeling from that moment. I was so happy. I am so happy. I can still feel it even now."
"I hope you will have the dream often. You look so beautiful when you are happy."
Iris lifted her head and look at Cane. "I don’t need that dream to make me happy. I have you and you always make me happy."
She kissed him and they fooled around for a bit until Iris’s stomach growled and they had to stop since the babies need to eat.
"We need to stop. I have to feed my girls." Cane was panting and then nibbled on her earlobe, which made Iris squirmed. "And my wife..."
With that, Cane took their breakfast to bed and Iris devoured the whole thing that Cane had cooked for her. Ever since she was pregnant, Cane would pamper her to the point she couldn’t do anything. She was afraid how protective Cane would be to their baby girls.
"Our families will come this evening to have barbecue," Cane reminded Iris when she said she wanted to go out to shop for their babies’ clothes. She didn’t need to do it, because they had a lot, but Iris loved to do it and Cane loved to see her happy, so he didn’t protest. "I will cook for them. Do you want something to eat?"
"I love whatever you cook. I will even eat bland pasta for you."
"I will never give you bland pasta, Iris, and you know that."
With that, they spent the whole afternoon by making side dishes and preparing the barbecue for their family.
Actually, they didn’t need to be bothered, since their family came early to help. They arrived four hours before dinner to help them with the preparation.
"Oh, you look so beautiful, Iris," Cane’s mother said, as she hugged Iris and kissed both of her cheeks.
"Thank you, mother." Iris kissed her too and then went to her mother to hug her.
