The Alpha King’s Fated Mate (Gwen Louve) novel Chapter 158

Chapter 158
The Demon’s explosive laughter rang out and no one else found it funny until I let out another long sigh.
Indeed Demon is very different, I thought irritably but knew I couldn’t do anything at the moment, afraid that Demon’s anger could lead to bad things for my members who are currently around us.
Yes, I have to act smart and not be in a hurry that is fatal to my people.
“Let’s talk inside” I invited and he, the Demon, just raised an eyebrow in silence while watching me carefully, as if he wanted to find out my true purpose.
D*mn it, I really don’t know how to act with these Demons, they are so unpredictable and I don’t know what to do, this is a first, d*mn it!!!
The Demon looked at me silently with a sardonic smile before walking ahead of me, as if he knew the ins and outs of this territory.
I know, it’s a form of intimidation that he does to make us feel uncomfortable, but I just sighed softly and kept a calm look while following him into the palace, yes, I know it’s useless to take him away from this place, he can definitely find my office and see his steady footsteps, my guess is right, he knows.
But to what extent does he know?
That’s what I want to find out more…
“What is it with you and Astaroth?” I opened the conversation while walking with him and heard a rude snort come out of his mouth when I said it “He was unconscious and injured when we found him” I added but he still kept walking and didn’t respond to me, ugh, he’s great I thought annoyed!
For a while he didn’t answer me and just stayed silent, I kept walking until I reached a very familiar door that was the door to my office.
Opening the door, I gave a glance towards the guards who were following us from behind and gave a soothing nod to them, who I knew would be eager to come inside so that they could protect me in the room and not leave me alone with her.
But one thing they didn’t realize was that with me inside, it would be easier for me to move and threaten him without worrying about him doing something to my members around me like earlier.
The question is, can I win against him?
“That beautiful man thought I was too young to beat him and I proved him wrong, I can beat him if I want to” The words spoken by the Demon surprised me.
I didn’t expect him to tell me about it.
Yes, the hostile relationship and rivalry between the two of them is legendary, and hearing it from him, it seems that it is more than just a rivalry.
When he noticed my surprise, the Demon gave me a mischievous smile before making his way to the liquor cabinet that I had stashed in the corner of the room.
Just like Astaroth did, I thought and tried not to shake my head remembering that the beautiful Demon he had insulted also took the same drink he was currently sipping.
“So you hurt him?” I asked again for reassurance, I thought they were equal in strength, maybe Astaroth was even stronger, but apparently I was wrong?
“I attacked him when he least expected and predicted it” He replied casually while taking a swig of whiskey straight from the bottle which made me almost, frown at him.
D*mn it! I had to throw that drink away, because the saliva of demons is very dangerous for earthlings, and also for us werewolves.
“And apparently, knowing he’s hiding, I’m sure he must know by now not to mess with me” he added with a smug and arrogant face that made me understand why Astaroth hated him.
This boy really didn’t realize that he wasn’t the greatest here.
“I see..” Not knowing what to say, I just said that.
Hey, I hate small talk!!!
Asmodeus, who noticed my curiosity raised an eyebrow before walking over to me “What’s this? The Alpha king doesn’t seem to be afraid of me?” He challenged while pointing towards my cheek, trying to anger me with his lack of chastisement towards me.
However, I was already well-versed in this kind of manipulation, so it was impossible for him to get anything he wanted from me at the moment..
I shrugged casually and took a drink from the liquor cabinet as well and poured it into a glass and took a quick sip “What do you want here, Asmodeus?” I asked matter-of-factly and straight to the point.
His red eyes looked at me intently with a sardonic smile still on display on his face, I could tell he was upset, but he didn’t want to show it.
We both know each other’s strengths and I think he also knows he can’t hurt me because of my good relationship with
Lucifer.
“Why did Astaroth leave without doing anything here?” He asked and I raised a confused eyebrow at the question the Demon in front of me threw out.
“What do
you mean?” I asked in astonishment.
“I know how angry Astaroth would be if he found out I defeated him to the point of destroying everything he encountered, but why didn’t he destroy this place when he woke up?”
D*MN IT!!!!
He knew Astaroth’s nature so well, he suspected something was preventing his rival from doing what he would normally do, but did not.
“What is there here that keeps him from doing what I think he’s going to do?” He looked at me sharply as he threw the question towards me again “I really want to know what happened back then? Made him just leave this place without any damage?”
F*ck! What should I say?
