The Alpha’s Little Rogue (Alessia) novel Chapter 157

Chapter 157

Raphael's POV We have been having this "friendship" for a few weeks now and staying over at Daphne's place has been some of the best moments of my weeks. After training the pack, I rush over to my pack and handle some things over there and then l'm immediately back here to spend the night with Daphne.

It's a vicious cycle and it's one that I'm hoping isn't going to change any time soon.

Approaching Daphne's house, I smile when I see that the light inside is still on.

Knocking softly on the door, I step back and wait for her to answer it. The door opens to show her smiling face and I can literally feel all the stress of the day I just had wash away from my body.

"Hey," she greets, stepping to the side to allow me in.

I walk into the h o u s e and wait for her to c l o s e the door before I take her into my arms. She melts into my touch and lets out a tiny sigh as I give her the first kiss of the night.

Pulling away, I let my lips linger on hers for a few seconds before stepping back to give her some space.

"You were watching a movie?" | ask as my gaze falls on the TV. It's ten pm and I sort of expected her to already be asleep and not watching a movie.

Daphne walks over to the sofa and sinks into it. Then she pats the free space beside her. "Do you want to join me?" She asks.

Is that even a question? Do I want to join her and have the chance of cuddling her and eventually have the cuddling turn into something more? Heck yes.

Sitting beside her on the couch, I pull her closer to me and throw my arm over her shoulders. She snuggles into my chest and drapes her leg over mine.

"Why don't you join them to train?" I ask, pushing away a piece of hair that h a s fallen over her face behind her ear.

I receive an 'Are you seriously asking me that' look along with an arched brow. "Take a wide guess," she suggests sarcastically.

"There's no need to be saucy," I reprimand and pinch the bridge of her nose to get back at home. It's funny how easily we have fallen into this dynamic. "Even though you don't have a wolf, you still need to be able to defend yourself."

She rolls her eyes, looking bratty. "If a rogue attack should happen, there's nothing that I'll be able to do that will stop me from getting killed."

It would be stupid to argue with that reasoning, but being able to defend oneself should be non-negotiable. She might not have the strength to fight and win a battle with a werewolf but if she has some fighting skills, she might be able to hold on long enough for s o m e o n e to help her out.

"I think you should still attend the training. At least, learn a few techniques or the basic skills." I play with a strand of her hair as I a n s w e r.
