Chapter 166
Two years ago, Daisy’s story
“Are you sure it’s safe here? I can drop you off at the pack instead,” Neil proposed cautiously when they arrived a distance away from the Crescent Moon Pack, but Daisy refused for him to go any further.
“No. This place is fine. I want to see Alpha Calhoun when he drives in or out of the pack.”
“What if he doesn’t come out today?” Neil asked after a moment of thought. Daisy smiled as she recalled the research report she received on him from Neil when her parents went on their vacation.
“Didn’t you say that he comes out to check the external pack security by himself?”
“That is what the investigator said,” Neil recalled in agreement, unsure of what to hope for.
This was a new experience for Daisy as it was the first time she had gone anywhere without her parents‘ company.
“Good. From now onwards, my name is Aurora White. Do me a favor and send the information I would send to you to the human world. Let me know if it’s done.”
She transferred documents from her phone to him, and Neil couldn’t help but ask, “Where did you get all of these?”
Daisy had impersonated someone in the human world, making a few changes since the person had disappeared without a trace.
“I did some digging. From now on, you should not contact me until I contact you.”
Neil had no idea Daisy’s hacking skills had improved so much but was quite impressed. His only challenge was not to contact Daisy again.
They had grown up together at the pack house, and she was like an elder sister to him. “Daisy, you will be greatly missed. How long are you staying?”
“As soon as I accomplish my mission, I will decide on whether to stay here permanently or return. Trust me, it won’t be long.”
She carried the backpack containing the few clothes she had brought along with some money and exited the car.
“Go,” she said, ensuring that Neil drove away before she began her ten–minute walk to the Crescent Moon pack.
Upon reaching there, she lingered for almost two hours before she saw a group of fifty warriors jogging in. Leading them was a familiar face that caused her heart to skip a beat. She came out of her hiding and ran into him.
“Hey, watch your step,” she was caught in strong arms, as his dark orbs bore into hers. “What are you doing around here?” A deep voice rang in her ears as he steadied her before slowly withdrawing his hands.
Daisy stared into the familiar eyes, but all she received in return was aloofness. “Will you say something?” The voice didn’t sound like the one she remembered, but people change, right?
Taking a deep breath, she braced herself and stretched her hand towards him.
“I’m Aurora White. I just escaped from some people chasing me in the human world, and I need a place to stay.”
Alpha Calhoun was taken aback as he studied her features keenly. His warriors had already gone ahead.
Aurora’s hair was held in a bun, with enchanting green eyes covered by nerd glasses.
There was no familiarity between her and any woman he had seen around the packs.
“How can I believe what you are saying?” He found her too fragile to be a threat but also couldn’t believe that she was being chased.
Aurora gazed dreamily at the handsome face. It had been ten years, and she knew that this man didn’t recognize her. She had to find another way.
“I can’t prove it to you, but I can be helpful. Give me a place to stay, food, and a little money, and I can be a member of your pack.”
Alpha Calhoun looked around carefully, wondering if someone was sponsoring her. Her presence made him feel uneasy.
“I don’t just accept members; some can be traitors. Find another pack.” He was two steps into entering the pack gate when Daisy ran to him.
“Hey. I’m very capable. Trust me, I learned accounting, ethical hacking, fashion, and good combat skills too.”
Her words struck a chord in him, but the first part upset him. “Did you just call me ‘hey‘?”

Chapter 166
Daisy forced a smile. “I’m sorry. What is your name?” She pretended not to know. Alpha Calhoun suddenly took an interest in her.
“Alpha Calhoun Davis.”
“Alpha? No wonder you look strong and handsome,” she flirted with him a bit but Alpha Calhoun looked rather bored but the compliment.
This was something he had heard many times before. Daisy thought of something and said, “I haven’t been around packs for long. I just visited a few times.”
She mentioned visiting a few times to hint that they must have met before, but Alpha Calhoun’s expression remained stiff.
“So where have you been?” He asked curiously, considering investigating her.
