Chapter 171
A week passed, and Daisy had already gotten the hang of the pack’s activities.
Throughout this time, Alpha Calhoun never invited any of the call girls over, but Daisy had still not had the opportunity to join training and had not made any loyal friends to provide her with the information she needed.
She sometimes felt that Alpha Calhoun was either hiding something or did not want her to leave the pack house for reasons best known to him, keeping her confined to it.
Fortunately, though the maids gossiped, they treated her with respect, and Linda was hesitant to accept her help.
It was only when Alpha Calhoun was invited to the Dark Moon Pack that Daisy felt she could get some answers.
However, he made sure to leave her with a lot of work to keep her busy. Daisy had everything planned in advance before leaving for the Dark Moon Pack, knowing that Neil could take care of it.
This was the time to search for any clues on the Crescent Moon pendant after completing the other tasks he left for her at the office.
Daisy went in with the cleaning materials and as she cleaned, she searched. Not finding anything after a long time, she began to lose hope and thought of returning to her pack.
Time was ticking, and it seemed to her that Alpha Calhoun was not the man she was looking for until she opened a small room.
It contained a collection of trophies from both the human world and the werewolf community, as well as a box.
She opened it to find lots of pictures but stepped on something that caught her attention.
She gently placed the box down, lowered herself, and checked under the woolen carpet where her legs were. There was something under the carpet.
Lifting it, she pulled the opening, revealing a box. Opening it, her heart stopped. It was the Crescent Moon pendant, locked away and hidden. A tear dropped from her eyes. She wished so much for it not to be him, but it was.
“What are you doing here?” a furious voice bellowed behind her. She turned around, and the pendant fell from her hands.

Alpha Calhoun was even more furious. “How did you get that? Are you spying on me?”
His gaze darkened. ‘She’s a spy‘
‘I don’t think so. I like her, his wolf responded.
‘But she’s not our mate, Calhoun said, his wolf, Sergeant, replied.
Neither is Asena.
‘You know how I’m a man of my word. Asena insisted that I mark her after enrolling her in medical school, but I didn’t want to mate and get her pregnant before she completes medical school, so I didn’t. I have a connection with Athena.‘
His wolf exposed him. ‘You just love her passion for medicine.
Back then, he met Asena at the Riverbed Pack when he was giving his junior brother a chase.
The scoundrel had taken what was his, the pendant, and though he could not catch up to him due to the speed, he met Asena crying and went to her aid.
She was almost twelve years old by then, and though they weren’t mates, he took a liking to her when she expressed her knowledge in science and volunteered a lot at the pack hospital.
Asena and her parents were members of the Riverbed Pack but joined the Crescent Moon Pack due to Asena’s obsession with Calhoun, always wanting to be by his side.
‘A woman must be intelligent and smart, Alpha Calhoun did not refuse. It was the same reason he was liking Daisy. She proved to be smart and intelligent.
For Asena to leave for medical school a few months before turning eighteen, Alpha Calhoun had to propose and engage her.
They were not destined mates but were in love. Strangely, something moved inside of him when he saw the tears in Daisy’s eyes.
He was upset earlier, but remembering the contract he just secured from the Dark Moon Pack because of her suggestion, he quickly let it go, and before he knew it, his thumb was wiping her tears.

“Why are you crying?”
The feel of his warm hand wiping her tears made her feel strange. Daisy was at a loss for words, not knowing how to escape the situation.
“I… I was just cleaning.”
Alpha Calhoun bent over and picked up the pendant from the floor.
“Don’t bother cleaning this room.”
