It was the end of the school day, and Sheryl had arrived right on time. When the kids saw her, they ran out to greet her.
"Mommy, you came!" Shirley hugged Sheryl happily.
Following Shirley was Clark. On the way to the car, the two kids told Sheryl about something interesting that had happened in the kindergarten.
"Mommy, when can we see Daddy?" Shirley asked, looking at Sheryl after she had fastened the safety belt for herself.
The question stunned Sheryl to silence. She didn't know how to explain it to the kids. What she did instead was to smile at Shirley, and then she changed the topic.
Being the observant and sensitive one, Clark saw the sorrow on his mother's face.
"Shirley, stop. Listen to Mommy." Seeing that Shirley was going to ask more questions, Clark grabbed Shirley's arm to stop her.
Pouting, Shirley didn't continue further.
Soon, they reached home.
Upon entering the house, Shirley smelled the delicious aroma of the food. She walked to Alex and smiling she asked, "Auntie Alex, what did you cook? It smells good."
"I cooked your favorite, pork ribs."
"Wow...!"
Without washing their hands, the two kids went to their chairs. When they were about to sit, Sheryl stopped them.
Shaking her head, Sheryl pretended to be angry. "Wash your hands!"
"Fine!" the two kids replied in unison and nodded at Sheryl before washing their hands.
Afterwards, they ate dinner. While eating, Sheryl asked them about what had happened in the kindergarten. The dinner was an enjoyable one.
Time flew by so fast, and soon, it was time to sleep. Sheryl read the kids' bedtime stories, and they fell asleep in no time.
After kissing their foreheads and walking out of the children's room, Sheryl went to her bedroom. Meanwhile, the two kids opened their eyes as soon as she left.
"Clark, do you think Daddy and Mommy had a fight?" Shirley asked Clark in a sweet and soft voice.
Looking at Shirley next to him, Clark nodded. "It seems that Mommy and Daddy are going to separate. We have to figure out a solution."
"Clark, do you have a solution?" Shirley looked at Clark expectantly.
Despite not fully understanding the adult world yet, the two kids thought it was for the best if Sheryl and Charles could remain together.
Witness to everything that happened between their parents, the two kids were nervous. After a short while, Clark said, "I have a plan..."
Hearing that Clark had a plan, Shirley asked happily, "What's the plan, Clark?"
Not wanting to be heard, Clark whispered something to Shirley. Soon after, the two fell joyfully asleep. In their minds, the plan would surely work, and Sheryl and Charles would stay together again.
On the balcony, Sheryl stood and looked up at the sky. Sad and lonely, she felt restless and always thought of Charles. But, she knew deep inside her heart that she had to move on.
After drinking some water, Sheryl forced herself to go to sleep.
Sheryl had a nightmare which left her heartbroken and almost wanting to leave this world.
In her dream, she was chased by an evil dog. She ran and ran until she finally came to a dead end. She wanted to pass by the evil dog, but she couldn't, no matter how hard she had tried.
