After Black was done speaking, he checked his watch, and he flashed it at Jason. With pursed lips, he said, "You're running out of time!"
"I can't part with Holley," Jason said with resolution. But anyone could guess he was extremely scared.
"Jason, think about it. If those usurers catch you again, what will they do to you? Have you ever considered that? You might be dumped into the ocean, and left to be eaten by the sharks," Black pressed Jason, leaving him no choice.
After listening to those daunting words, Jason didn't know what to say. He merely lowered his head and remained silent. Black squatted so that he could look into Jason's eyes. He continued, "It is always better to look before you leap. Which is more important, your wife or your life?"
Jason's face turned dreary after he heard Black's question.
Out of the blue, something occurred to him. 'How does Black know so much about me? Something is off the mark here!' Jason thought curiously.
This thought began to make Jason furious. He glared at Black and yelled at him, "You bastard! I knew it! You asked that woman to seduce me, didn't you?!"
"Jason, you are acting very rashly!" Black replied with a mock-serious expression. Black wasn't afraid of Jason, so he wouldn't hide anything from him. If anything, he was proud to be exposed.
"You…"
Jason lost control. He clenched his fists, ready to hit Black. But Black was quicker than him. Before Jason could do anything, Black's subordinates had grabbed Jason's arms. Now he was made to kneel on the ground. With their firm grasp, Jason couldn't move an inch. In this helpless state, he continued to glare at Black.
"You don't have much time now. Have you made up your mind? I'm counting to three. If I don't get an answer, I'm leaving." Black flashed him a cold glance. Before Jason could say anything, Black began counting.
"One, two, three."
"Fine, I quit. I promise I will leave Holley. But you have to give me some money. I will need it to abscond." Jason was afraid that Black would hand him over to the usurers, so he gave a prompt reply.
Moreover, Jason knew Ferry well. He hated gamblers more than anyone else. He especially loathed those who borrowed money from usurers. If Ferry found out that Jason had borrowed money from usurers, his life wouldn't be spared.
But now that he had got himself in trouble, he had no choice but to accept Black's offer. In this dire situation, he knew this was the best option for him.
"Great, that sounds like a wise decision. Here is one million. Take this money and get the hell out of here. I don't want to see you ever again. You know what I am capable of, so don't try to act smart. Do you understand?"
Black said and threw the cheque at Jason.
Dumbfounded, Jason looked at Black in disbelief. "Mr. Hu, are you kidding me? I am aware you come from a wealthy family. I also know you love Holley dearly. One million won't be enough. Is that how little Holley means to you?"
Jason was very disappointed with what Black had offered. He was going to abscond. And in this journey, one million wouldn't be enough to support him. He wouldn't even be able to get out of this city with that amount.
But Black couldn't care less about Jason's distress. He took a cigarette out of his pocket and said, "Jason, I spent 10 million to save you. Did you forget that? I am being very generous to you. If you think it's too little, fine, I advise you to leave with nothing."
Although Black was asking Jason to leave, he had clearly gained the upper hand. And he didn't care whether Jason would listen to him and leave. If his offer was declined, Black was more than ready to kill Jason.
Jason composed himself as he could tell from Black's face that he was serious. He knew he couldn't ask for more from Black. Even though one million wasn't enough for him, he told himself that something was better than nothing.
"Fine, I will take it. But you need to ask your people to see me off!"
This was the last thing Jason wanted from Black. In his mind, he had finally accepted his defeat.
"No problem," replied Black looking satisfied with his victory. It was like lifting a finger for Black, so he agreed without any hesitation.
Black then gestured to one of his subordinates and said to him, "See him off!"
