Carla opened her eyes to sunlight streaming in from the window. She winced and squinted her eyes a little, as it had reacted to the sudden brightness. She felt strange, oddly satisfied, why? What happened to her? She looked disoriented for a moment, thinking about the changes that had occured in her life lately until memories started rushing back to her. Liam, the baby contract they signed, proposal, marriage, wedding night... Yes that's it! Their wedding night! She remembered how passionate their lovemaking was. Liam couldn't seem to get enough of her, thus making her night short but enjoyable and memorable. She had collapsed against his chest when her body could take no more and had fallen asleep. The guy sure didn't seem to get tired though, he could go on for hours without getting tired of lovemaking.
She turned and took in a sharp breath when she came face to face with him. They were so close that they would make physical contact if she so much inched a little bit closer. His eyes were closed, which meant that he wasn't awake yet, or was he? She studied his profile for some minutes, drinking in his relaxed profile. He really looked calm while asleep. The eyebrows that never seemed to quit frowning now looked peaceful. Slowly, she reached out a finger and inched it towards his face until it met with the thick eyebrows. She moved her finger back and forth, caressing the soft but thick hair. He really do look like a baby when his penetrating gaze was not on her, as if searching her soul.
She smiled contentedly, thinking of how absurd the idea was that finally, she had married one of the most richest men in Mexico. But why didn't she feel fulfilled? Was it because theirs was not a marriage of love? Heck, she had no idea and wouldn't want to ruin her morning after by thinking about that. So she would focus on the morning after her wedding night. Though he didn't promise her love, he clearly stated that he would do his best to make their marriage worthwhile. Her eyes nearly flew out of her chest when his eyes opened suddenly.
" Holy shit! You scared the hell out of me! " She exclaimed.
He smirked at that. He always did anyway, she thought with a roll of her eyes mentally.
She finally let out the urge to roll her eyes physically " So? Are you gonna keep staring at me like I'm some cake you wanna.... " Her senseless ramble was cut short as he slammed his lips against hers. Her breath caught in her throat in surprise but knowing Liam for always taking her off by surprises, she shouldn't be. The minute she wrapped her hands around his neck, he got the message and pulled her on top of him. She came to her sense when she felt something poked her down her stomach.
She frowned " What was... " Again her words were cut short but it wasn't Liam this time, she clasped her palm against her lips, mortified and eyes huge.
" Hey, what's wrong? " Liam asked, sitting up. It was obvious that he was starting to get worried.
" Morning breath " She blurted out
" You kissed me while I still have what I'm sure is a bad morning breath " She said again, like she couldn't believe it herself. She knew she wasn't making any sense but she just couldn't stop herself from saying it. Geez, why had he kissed her? Maybe it's what couples do the morning after their wedding night, a voice in her head replied and Carla snorted. Not visibly of course.
He sighed " Baby, I don't care. Besides you don't have a bad morning breath, I rather like it " His voice turned sexy and he reached out for her. Carla knowing what he wanted to do again, evaded him so fast she almost lost her balance.
" And why did you open your eyes like some wizard in the woods? " She continued like she had no idea what she had done. Even though he said it was alright, she couldn't let him come close to her again, not until she finally had a hot, clean bath or so.
He sighed again, her tactics of avoiding him not lost to him but he smiled nonetheless, which was more of a smirk actually " What? Of course I allowed you to drink your fill of me, counted the minutes actually " He winked.
Carla's eyes widened in dramatic horror " So you actually knew all along that I was staring at you?! "
He grinned " Of course, and I did mine a while ago so why couldn't I allowed you the honor of the same thing? "
