On getting home, he met the greatest shock of his life. She had packed all her things to the guest bedroom. He thought she had a good surprise for him, was this the surprise? He asked himself in anger, feeling his jaw twitched. There was no way he was going to allow her move into that bedroom, she would definitely stay with him. He couldn't afford that, not now or ever. Never? What was he saying? The contract was bound to expire less than two years from now so he had to brace up himself for what was coming. Damn, he thought she wanted to patch things up between them, a nice meal waiting for him with her in a sling lingerie or something, but definitely not this, he thought to himself, trying to keep his anger in check.
" What's all this? "He asked with his eyebrows raised.
" What does it look like? " She fired back with a sweet smile, a too sweet smile.
" Where are you taking your stuff to? " He asked slowly.
" To the guest bedroom of course " She answered without looking at him.
" You are not going anywhere, this is your place " He said firmly.
" Can you stop me? " She asked with a smirk.
" I can and I will " He replied firmly
" Would like to see you try " She answered with a raised eyebrow, daring him to carry out his threat.
He shook his head, trying to calm down while telling himself that arguing with her was not the reasonable thing to do.
" Listen Carla, this is absurd. We're supposed to be married... "
" And we are " Carla cut in, brushing away a strand of her hair.
Liam nodded " Exactly, so doing this is absurd really "
" There's nothing absurd about this Liam, I'm just trying to make things easy for us " Carla said, waving her hands in the air.
Liam frowned, not getting her point " Easy? How? Look, there's nothing easy about being separated from my wife "
Carla felt color rushed up her cheeks as she heard that. He really knew how to make a lady feel important, didn't he? Well, she had made up her mind and nothing was going to change that.
" Liam please " She said in a very soft, velvet like voice and Liam felt his heart softened at that.
" Why? " He whispered but Carla looked away to stare at the non existent thing that caught her interest.
" Why do you want to be away from me so badly? " He asked again when he got no answer, this time holding her gently by the shoulders so she was left with no other choice but to look at him.
She shook her head " This is the best thing to do, Liam "
" The best thing, how?! " He growled, getting more frustrated by the minute.
Carla ignored his original question and changed the subject " I hope the one time we had sex is enough to get me pregnant, we can't keep doing this "
" We are married Carla, it's perfectly normal " He said firmly.
" I know we are " She replied quietly
" So what's the problem here? Or.... Are you scared of falling in love with me? " He searched her face desperately for answers.
