Carla shook her head" Oh no... " And she laughed " Well, just a little " 

Diana's eyes shimmered with tears of admiration " One thing I like about you is the fact that you're so honest, you and my son are so much compatible though I can't vouch about his honesty but I know he is a good man "

Carla nodded slowly " Yeah he is " She whispered. 

" You love him, don't you? " Diana asked out of the blue and made Carla so startled that she stuttered. 

" Wh... What? Oh yeah, I love him. He's my husband, isn't he? So it's only natural that I love him " She ended her words with a nervous laugh. 

Diana smiled, suddenly looked wiser than her years " No sweetheart it's not natural, have you heard about contract marriage? "

Carla clenched her hands tightly in fists and she grabbed the hem of her dress under the table. Did she know about the contract? Definitely not, there was no way she could have known about it all this while. 

" Uh... Yeah, I've heard about it " She managed to reply casually. 

Diana nodded " So would you say it was only natural that they fall in love with each other from the beginning? I'll answer that and it's a no. It was the same thing for my husband and I at first, " She paused and took a sip from her drink. 

Carla's eyes widened " You and Donald?! " Then she frowned, looking confused " But you love each other! It's so obvious that you're into each other, pardon my language here " 

Diana nodded " I'm not done yet, Lady Blake " and she laughed. 

" Sorry, kindly carry on please " Carla muttered apologetically. 

" Donald and I signed a contract agreement too but where is it now? Long forgotten, love prevails over everything else darling " She shook her head, a faraway look in her eyes. 

" So, you... um... I mean, your marriage wasn't real from the beginning? " Carla asked and licked her dry lips.

Diana nodded " Yeah, it wasn't real in the beginning but as time went by, we discovered it didn't even matter at all "

" Really? " Carla said softly as she didn't mean it to be a question. 

Diana shrugged " I don't know if you really love him but mark my words honey, you'll come to love him with time " 

Carla nodded, not able to get herself to talk. Did she love him already? No, she wouldn't think about that now, she had her future to think about after the marriage is over, she told herself firmly. 

" Now, let's go have fun! " Diana screamed, changing the subject as she pulled Carla up. The old lady had so much energy in her that even Carla couldn't believe it.
