Chapter 32: (Aubrey's POV)- No More Kisses
After that incident, where for some reason, the cat got my tongue and I wasn't able to tell Peter to get his hand off of me, Xavier went up and locked himself in his room. Mature, I know.
I decided against going up there, giving him time to cool off. It was now dinner time and he still hadn't come down. "Xavier!" I called out from the bottom of the stairs, but he didn't answer. I went a few steps higher, thinking he didn't hear me. "Xavier, can you come down?" I called out but no, no response. I went all the way and knocked on his door after listening to see if he was in the shower but not hearing any running water. "Xavier?" I knocked thrice but still nothing, nada. I sighed before leaning against his door. "It's time for dinner and I'm kind of hungry! Hello?" I called out while closing my eyes.
Before I knew it, the door swung open, sending me stumbling back only to be caught in his arms. "Order yourself a pizza, leave me alone." Grumpy much?
"Ouch! What if I want your food?" I turned to face him while raising an eyebrow at him teasingly.
"If you were really hungry then it wouldn't matter whether it's mine or it's pizza," he deadpanned.
"Why so glum chum?" I pinched his cheek only for him to smack my hand away a little passive-aggressively.
"Don't fuck with me right now, Aubrey. Just leave me alone," he huffed in frustration.
"What are you so mad about? Did I do something?" I questioned in confusion, taking the situation seriously now.
"Did you do something? You called Peter Miller to my house!" he lashed out. I jumped a little but stayed rooted to my spot. "To what? Make me jealous?" he questioned.
"You called Julie, was that to make me jealous?" I smirked as he backed me up against the corridor walls.
"Don't act smug with me, Carthy," he ordered. What the hell is he gonna do?
"Or what Parker? What are you gonna do? Enlighten me I would love to—"
He cut my babbling off by smashing his lips onto mine. If that's what he's gonna do every time I act smug, I should act smug a lot more often.
Wait. Wait. Wait. You're supposed to be mad, Aubrey.
I pushed him away while looking at him in surprise, can't hide my actual emotion now, can I? "You can't just kiss me every time you want me to shut up and I refuse to," I spoke a little breathlessly.
"Can you stop me?" he arched an eyebrow at me. "That's what I thought," he smirked when I refused to respond.
"Maybe I will just order pizza," I mumbled to myself before heading to the guest room where I set up my stuff and ordered a pepperoni cheese pizza before changing into my swimsuit and heading into the backyard.
He can pay for that pizza since I'm staying at his house.
I left my phone inside as I carried my towel with me before changing into my black one-piece and throwing my hair up in a bun. I opened the door to the backyard and headed straight for the pool.
I slowly got in, expecting the water to be slightly cold but it wasn't. Even better for me. After about five minutes in the pool, I heard the doorbell ringing faintly, the sound probably drowning out, no pun intended. I thought he would've been able to answer it but I guess not as I heard it again a few seconds later. I groaned before stepping out and drying myself briefly instead of wrapping the towel around myself since I'd be getting back in. I stepped into the house and headed for the front door.
"That will be eight doll-" the delivery guy stopped in his words as he checked me out.
Are you fucking serious? Aubrey, what is wrong with you? I should've just brought the towel.
"Xavier! Money!" I screamed before taking the boxes from the guy and placing them on the counter, I was generous enough to order Xavier some as well.
He came down, uttering some curses and groaning under his breath but stopping dead in his tracks when he saw what I was wearing.
